THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Schedule hereto for the purpose of a public street and highway—to wit, the widening of Banff Avenue, within the City of Auckland, and that a plan of the land proposed to be taken is deposited in the office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, and may be inspected there (without fee) during office hours: And further notice is hereby given that unless within forty days from the 4th day of July, 1929, being the date of the first publication of this notice, any written objection to the taking of such land is sent to the Town Clerk aforesaid, the Auckland City Council shall forthwith proceed to take the said land for such public work.

THE SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situated within the City of Auckland containing one decimal three perches, more or less, being part of Lot 9 on a plan deposited in the Land Transfer Office at Auckland under Number 8506 of Allotment 34, Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland, situated in Block I, Otahuhu Survey District, coloured red on plan lodged in the Survey Office at Auckland under Number 25293.

MANGAWHERO SAWMILLING CO., LTD.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

THE following special resolution was passed on the 29th day of June, 1929:—

“That, as the company has ceased to carry on milling operations and as the debenture-holder has appointed a Receiver, it is in the interest of the shareholders and of the creditors of the company that the company should go into voluntary liquidation.”

RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

COPY OF RESOLUTION PASSED AT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY, 2ND JULY, 1929, MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Riccarton Borough Council resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £9,000, authorized to be raised by the Riccarton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending and improving the electricity reticulation over the whole of the borough, providing cable, transformers, meters, poles, vehicles, buildings, workshops, purchase of land for substations, instruments, and all articles necessary for the extension and improvement of the said electricity reticulation within the Borough of Riccarton, the said Riccarton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the unimproved value of all property in the Borough of Riccarton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Petone Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eight thousand six hundred pounds (£8,600), authorized to be raised by the Petone Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a loan of nine thousand two hundred pounds (£9,200) which matured on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, the said Petone Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of forty-three one-hundred-and-twenty-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Petone, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the twelfth day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that R K O PICTURES (AUSTRALASIA), LIMITED, a company duly incorporated in New South Wales, in the Commonwealth of Australia, and having its registered office in Castlereagh Street, Sydney, proposes to change the situation and locality of its office or place of business for New Zealand from the Paramount Buildings, Courtenay Place, Wellington, to the National Bank Buildings, Courtenay Place, Wellington.

Legal process may be served upon the company and notices of any kind may be addressed or delivered at the office of the company at the National Bank Buildings, Courtenay Place, Wellington, aforesaid.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of the UNITED M. AND E. WATER-RACE COMPANY, REGISTERED (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 130 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the registered office of the company, Messrs. Pyle Bros. Store, St. Bathan’s, on Saturday, the 27th day of July, 1929, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of, and for the purpose of fixing the Liquidator’s remuneration.

WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION PASSED MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

Loan of £15,000 for Construction of Bridges.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waimea County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifteen thousand pounds sterling (£15,000), authorized to be raised by the Waimea County Council under the above-mentioned Act for construction of bridges, the said Waimea County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four forty-thirds of one penny sterling (4/43 rds. of 1d.) in the pound sterling upon the capital value of all rateable property within the County of Waimea, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 15th day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Waimea County Council at its meeting held on the 4th day of July, 1929.
