Declaring National-endowment and Crown Lands in Hauraki Mining District, Auckland Land District, open for Disposal on Renewable Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and fifty-four of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General, by Proclamation, may from time to time declare any Crown lands within any mining district to be open for disposal as provided in section one hundred and fifty-three of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-fifty-fourth section of the said Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open on Friday, the twenty-third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, for disposal as provided in section one hundred and fifty-three of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—HAURAKI MINING DISTRICT.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT LAND.
Coromandel County.—Coromandel Survey District.
Section 9, Block II: Area, 99 acres 3 roods 35 perches. Capital value, £50. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1. Weighted with £177 10s., value of improvements, comprising five-roomed kauri dwelling (iron roof, double brick chimney), three-bail cow-byre, 50 chains boundary-fencing; 50 chains road-fencing, and 20 chains subdivisional fencing. This amount is payable in cash.
Property, which is suitable for dairy farming, is situated three miles from Kennedy Bay Post-office and school, and seven miles from cream-dump and saleyards at Coromandel. Access is by metalled dray-road. Undulating to hilly land, comprising 50 acres reverted pasture, balance old kauri workings, well watered by creeks and springs. The soil is a very light loam resting on andesite-quartz formation. Blackberry is plentiful.
NOTE.—The property is to be selected and held in conjunction with Section 15, Block II, Coromandel Survey District, containing 35 acres 2 roods 4 perches, adjoining.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.—CROWN LAND.
Coromandel County.—Coromandel Survey District.
Section 15, Block II: Area, 35 acres 2 roods 4 perches. Capital value, £25. Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, 10s. Property, which is suitable for grazing, is situated on the Coromandel—Kennedy Bay Road, three miles from Kennedy Bay Post-office and school, and seven miles from Coromandel saleyards. Access is by a metalled dray-road from Coromandel. Section is entirely unimproved, comprising worked-out kauri bush, the soil being a very light loam resting on andesite-quartz formation; watered by springs. Blackberry requires attention.
NOTE.—The property is to be selected and held in conjunction with Section 9, Block II, Coromandel Survey District, containing 99 acres 3 roods 35 perches, adjoining.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.—CROWN LAND.
Ohinemuri County.—Ohinemuri Survey District.
Section 13, Block X: Area, 260 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £130. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 12s. Weighted with £50, value of improvements comprising wooden building and 200 chains fencing in poor condition. This sum is payable either in cash or by a cash deposit of £10, the balance being payable in four years by half-yearly instalments of £5, plus interest at 5½ per cent. on the balance of the principal owing.
Grazing proposition, situated at Komata Reefs, six miles from Komata Railway-station and school, nine miles from Paeroa. Access by metalled road from Paeroa. The soil is light clayey loam, resting on sandstone formation; watered by springs and creeks. Section hilly to steep land, comprising approximately 120 acres in light bush, mostly tawa and rata with a few rimu, and 140 acres cleared, but now reverting to second growth. Blackberry obtaining a hold, ragwort in evidence.
