RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
———
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Wellington City Council resolved on the 21st January, 1929, as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000), (to be known as “The Wellington City Tramways Paving and Town Hall Loan 1904 Repayment Loan, 1929”), authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000), which matures on the 1st day of May, 1929, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four one-hundredths of a penny (4/100d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six (26) years from the 1st day of May, 1929, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and thirty-four thousand three hundred pounds (£134,300), (to be known as “The Wellington City Waterworks, Destructor, and Lighting Loan 1904 Repayment Loan, 1929”), authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a loan of two hundred and thirty-five thousand pounds (£235,000) which matures on the 1st day of May, 1929, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eighteen one-hundredths of a penny (18/100d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-seven (27) years from the 1st day of May, 1929, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the above-named company will be held at 102 Custom-house Quay, Wellington, on Monday, the 18th day of February, 1929, at 10 o’clock a.m., for the purpose of having the account of the Liquidator, showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted, and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and also of determining by resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE, AS SECURITY FOR A LOAN OF £9,000, FOR IMPROVEMENTS AND EXTENSIONS OF THE CORPORATION WATERWORKS.
———
Extract from the Minutes of Proceedings of the Westport Borough Council, at a Special Meeting of the said Council held on Wednesday, the 9th Day of January, 1929.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £9,000, known as “The Improvements and Extensions of Water-supply Loan of £9,000, 1928,” authorized by the Westport Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making improvements and extensions to the borough water-supply, the said Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling, upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Westport, comprising the whole of the Borough of Westport, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 5th day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is paid off.
We, the undersigned Mayor and Town Clerk of the Borough of Westport, do hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Westport Borough Council, held on Wednesday the 9th day of January, 1929.
