John Howard Marcus Smith (Pilot Officer, Reserve of Air Force Officers), to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 30th November, 1928.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) A. L. Henderson lapses. Dated 9th January, 1929.
N.Z. VETERINARY CORPS.
The notice published in the N.Z. Gazette dated 15th March, under the heading N.Z. Veterinary Corps, relative to Lieut.-Colonel H. A. Reid is hereby cancelled and the following substituted :—
Lieut.-Colonel H. A. Reid, O.B.E., F.R.C.V.S., Eng., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 10th February, 1928.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Captain F. D. Pinfold, M.B., ceases to be attached to the 2nd Field Battery, N.Z.A., and is attached to the 1st Battalion, Waikato Regiment. Dated 24th November, 1928.
Captain H. Hutson, M.D., F.R.C.S. Edin., ceases to be attached to the 1st Battalion, Wellington West Coast Regiment, and is posted to the Northern Depot, N.Z.M.C. Dated 30th December, 1928.
N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend H. T. Peat, Chaplain, 3rd Class, is transferred to the Reserve List, Class I, R.D. 10. Dated 17th December, 1928.
The Reverend D. R. McDonald, Chaplain, 4th Class, is transferred from R.D. 2 to R.D. 6. Dated 21st December, 1928.
The Reverend E. J. Orange, Chaplain, 4th Class, resigns his commission. Dated 14th December, 1928.

I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Owaka Area of the Otago Electric-power District, held on 14th January, 1929, on a proposal to raise a loan of £16,500 for the reticulation, &c., of that area, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 141; against the proposal, 17; and, as the number of votes in favour of the proposal exceeds three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal carried. Dated this 15th day of January, 1929.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Waiapu County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That Gorse and Variegated Thistle (Silybum) be declared noxious weeds within the County of Waiapu.”
