AUCKLAND TRANSPORT BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Auckland Transport District was taken on Wednesday, 8th day of May, 1929, on the proposal of the Auckland Transport Board to borrow the sum of £526,600 for the purpose of extension of tramways to Point Chevalier, on Remuera Road, on Mount Eden Road, on Dominion Road, on Edendale Road, and on Richmond Road, a tramway loop at the new Auckland Railway-station, a tramway-siding in Stanley Street, duplication of tramway-track at Onehunga, the provision of new tramcars and plant, and improvement and enlargement of workshops.

The number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows: Votes recorded for the proposal, 12,498; votes recorded against the proposal, 3,963; informal, 782.

I therefore declare that the foregoing proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Waimea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Waimea, taken on the 8th day of May, 1929, on the proposal of the Waimea County Council to borrow the sum of £15,000 for the purpose of construction of bridges, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,175; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 537.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, in pursuance of the powers vested in it under section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Hunter ville Town Board resolves as follows: That from the 1st day of April, 1929, hemlock shall be a noxious weed within the Town District of Hunter ville.

Regulations as to Drainage and Plumbing under the Health Act, 1920, applied to Borough of Raetihi.—(H. 2/130.)

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made on the 3rd day of September, 1923, and gazetted on the 6th day of the same month, regulations (to be cited as “The Drainage and Plumbing Regulations”) were made under the Health Act, 1920, prescribing the conditions to be observed in the construction of approved drains, septic tanks, sanitary conveniences, and sanitary appliances:

And whereas by the said regulations it was provided that the same were suspended as provided in the said Act:

And whereas by section 133 of the said Act it is enacted that the operation of any such regulation may, if so provided therein, be wholly suspended until they are applied by the Minister by notice in the Gazette to any part of New Zealand:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur John Stallworthy, Minister of Health, in exercise of the power and authority given by the said regulations and by section 133 of the said Act, do hereby apply the said regulations to the Borough of Raetihi, and do hereby declare that this notice shall take effect on the 23rd day of May, 1929.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a quarry: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kakatahi, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, ROY FELLOWES BAIRD, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Dannevirke Orphans’ Club (Incorporated) is no longer carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.
