Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 24th May, 1929.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Wellington City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
Proposal to Raise a Special Loan of £24,200 for the Purpose of the Construction of a New Viaduct across Glenmore Road, at Kelburn.
I HEREBY give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 1st day of May, 1929, for and against the proposal of the Wellington City Council to borrow, by way of special loan, within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the sum of twenty-four thousand two hundred pounds (£24,200) for the construction of a new viaduct across Glenmore Road, at Kelburn, was as follows: For, 8,138; against, 6,723; informal, 587.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Proposal to Raise a Special Loan of £6,500 for the Erection of a Library Building for the Eastern Districts.
I HEREBY give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of a poll on the 1st day of May, 1929, for and against the proposal of the Wellington City Council to borrow, by way of special loan, within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the sum of six thousand five hundred pounds (£6,500) for the erection of library building for eastern districts, was as follows: For, 6,708; against, 8,115; informal, 603.
I therefore declare the proposal to be lost.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Mount Albert Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF MOUNT ALBERT.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mount Albert was taken on the 8th day of May, 1929, on the proposal of the Mount Albert Borough Council—

To borrow the sum of £8,500 for the following purpose:—
The laying-out and development of Morningside Reserve, including contingencies.The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1039; and the number of votes recorded against the same was 804.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

To borrow the sum of £8,500 for the following purpose:—
The laying-out and development of Gribblehirst Park, including contingencies.The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1071; and the number of votes recorded against the same was 774.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

To borrow the sum of £1,500, for the following purpose:—
The laying-out and development of the Mount Albert Domain, including contingencies.The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1098; and the number of votes recorded against the same was 754.

I HEREBY give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 1st day of May, 1929, for and against the proposal of the Wellington City Council to borrow, by way of special loan, within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the sum of eighty-five thousand six hundred pounds (£85,600) for tramways, car-construction, garage and carshed accommodation, was as follows: For, 7050; against, 7,481; informal, 636.
I therefore declare the proposal to be lost.

Proposal to Raise a Special Loan of £49,400 for Tramway-track Construction, Bowen Street to Tinakori Road, Tramway-track Duplication, Sydney Street to Karori Tunnel.
I HEREBY give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 1st day of May, 1929, for and against the proposal of the Wellington City Council to borrow, by way of special loan, within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the sum of forty-nine thousand four hundred pounds (£49,400) for the purpose of tramway-track construction, Bowen Street to Tinakori Road, tramway-track duplication, Sydney Street to Karori Tunnel, was as follows: For, 6,650; against, 7,850; informal, 606.
I therefore declare the proposal to be lost.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Dannevirke Electric-power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
JOSEPH WARD, Minister of Finance.
RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE LOAN OF £49,000.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Dannevirke Electric-power District was taken on the 8th day of May, 1929, on the proposal of the Dannevirke Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £49,000.
The particular purpose or purposes for which the loan is required are for electric reticulation, including additions and alterations to existing works, and to provide tools, plant, buildings, land, and equipment for same as defined in the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and its amendments.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 939; and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 235.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
