Appointing Saturday as the Statutory Closing-day in the Borough of Akaroa.
WHEREAS a poll to determine the statutory closing-day in the Borough of Akaroa was duly taken under the authority of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, on the 1st day of May, 1929 :
And whereas the Town Clerk of the Borough of Akaroa has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough :
Now, therefore, I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing day in the said borough as from the 3rd day of June, 1929.

And whereas the Mayor of the Borough of Paeroa has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Thursday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough :
Now, therefore, I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Thursday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough as from the 6th day of June, 1929.

SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT, pursuant to the powers conferred upon it by section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Pohangina County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that hemlock and burdock are noxious weeds within the County of Pohangina.
The Waimea Commercial Fruitgrowing District made subject to the Provisions of the Orchard-tax Act, 1927.—(Notice No. Ag. 2813.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by subsection (2) of section 4 of the Orchard-tax Act, 1927, I, George William Forbes, Minister of Agriculture, do hereby declare that the provisions of section 4 of the said Act shall apply with respect to the Waimea Commercial Fruitgrowing District, declared as such pursuant to the provisions in that behalf of the Fireblight Act, 1922.
