At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 11th day of May, 1929.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Tararua Electric-power Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) has been authorized to borrow, in respect of a loan to be known as “Electric Works Loan, 1922,” the sum of two hundred thousand pounds, whereof the sum of five thousand pounds has not yet been borrowed:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said section”), to the borrowing by the said local authority of the said sum of five thousand pounds at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said section, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby prescribe that the said sum of five thousand pounds may be raised in respect of the said loan by the said local authority at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate of five pounds thirteen shillings per centum per annum, and the said local authority is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum accordingly.

Amending Order in Council authorizing the Westport Coal Company, Ltd., to use Water from Granity Creek for the Purpose of generating Electricity and to erect Electric Lines within Portion of the County of Buller (Granity and Millerton).

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Order in Council dated the eleventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth day of the same month, authorizing the Westport Coal Company, Ltd., to use water from Granity Creek for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect electric lines within portion of the County of Buller (Granity and Millerton), by revoking clause sixteen of the Schedule thereto and substituting the following as clause sixteen:
“ The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a) and (e) of Regulation 5 of Electrical Supply Regulations, 1927, the transmission voltage between Millerton and Granity being 3,300 volts as indicated on plan P.W.D. 75310. All reconstructed lines shall be in accordance with the requirements of the aforementioned regulations.”

Appointment of Member of Board of Health under the Health Act, 1920.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section seven of the Health Act, 1920, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint William Young, M.D., F.R.C.S., Edin., to be a member of the Board of Health under the aforesaid Act.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 17th day of May, 1929.

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, at Bay View, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
