In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of the LONGHANDS SALEYARDS COMPANY, LTD. (in Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of members of the company will be held in the Chamber of Commerce rooms, Queen Street, Hastings, on Saturday, the 18th day of May, 1929, at 10.30 a.m. for the purpose of receiving an account showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Electric-power Board’s Act, 1925, and its amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wairarapa Electric-power Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute for the purpose of its power works, the erection of a dam in the Kourarau Stream, in the County of Wairarapa South, and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Secretary-Manager, of the said Power Board situated in High Street, Carterton, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary-Manager of the Wairarapa Electric-power Board at the Power Board’s Office, High Street, Carterton.

Approximate area of parcels of land required to be taken: 11 acres 1 rood 8·7 perches.
Being portion of Section Number part 2A, Hinewaka Block, situate in Block 13, Otahoua Survey District, Lot 4 on deposit plan No. 8639; edged red.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1927, and their respective amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of Lytton Street, Wadestown, in the City of Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedules hereto is required to be taken for the respective purposes set out under the headings to the said Schedules: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

A. Blaikie, and dated March, 1929, being thereon coloured as above mentioned.
