ERRATUM.—In New Zealand Gazette, No. 34, of the 9th May, 1929, page 1358, Notice under the Mining Act, 1926, in heading, read “Mining Privileges struck off the Register” in lieu of “Mining Privileges to be struck off the Register.”

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), has recommended that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be a scenic reserve under the said Act, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 1, Block XI, Matakaoa Survey District: Area, 3,575 acres, more or less.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 7th day of May, 1929.

Inferior Lands proclaimed as set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section two hundred and twenty-three of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the lands described in the Schedule hereto to be set apart for special settlement as inferior lands, under the provisions of the said section two hundred and twenty-three of the aforesaid Act.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Waitemata County.—Kaipara Survey District.—Riverhead Homestead Settlement.

SECTION 3, Block XV: Area, 149 acres 3 roods 32 perches.
SECTION 4, Block XV: Area, 96 acres 1 rood 29 perches.

The sections are situated about four miles from Kaukapakapa Railway-station by clay road, metalled in patches. The soil is composed of a light covering of sandy loam in the gullies resting on brown clay, and poor clay ridges. Country consists of easy slopes covered with tea-tree, hakea, and patches of danthonia grass.

Section 3 has about one hundred acres ploughable and Section 4 about forty acres ploughable.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 10th day of May, 1929.
