IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by the above company on the 27th day of March, 1929.

“ It is resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that JOHN WILLIAM SCURR be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

THE AKAROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the Akaroa County Council held in the County Chambers, Duvauchelle, on Saturday, the 27th day of April, 1929, the following resolution was passed :-

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Counties Act, 1920, and the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Akaroa County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges the Akaroa County Council Worker's Dwelling Loan of £1,000, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Akaroa County Council under the above-mentioned Acts and by a special order of the Council, for the purpose of erecting a worker’s dwelling at Duvauchelle for the use of the County Clerk, the Akaroa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/120th of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Akaroa County, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

GLENHAM SAWMILL COMPANY.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

TE AROHA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Te Aroha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :-

That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £80, authorized to be raised by the Te Aroha Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the undertaking, where-to the original loan of £800 authorized to be raised by the said Council has been found to be insufficient, of constructing an underground sewer-drain for the efficient sanitary drainage of property within the area hereinafter described, the said Te Aroha Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of one penny and one-eighth of a penny in the pound upon the annual rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area, comprising all that piece of land lying to the north-east of the Borough of Te Aroha, and comprising Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, part Te Ruakaka, Block IX, Aroha Survey District (Te Aroha Township); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HURUNUI RABBIT BOARD.

GENERAL ELECTION.

IN accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and the Counties Act, 1920, and the amendments thereto, respectively, public notice was given on 13th and 22nd days of April, 1929, that nominations of candidates must be sent in to reach me before noon on Wednesday, the 24th day of April, 1929, and whereas the following ratepayers have been duly nominated as candidates for the office of members of the Hurunui Rabbit Board, viz.:-

Atkinson, William Hanmer, Heasley, James, Sloss, John, Martin, Henry Gilbert, Winskill, James David Eric.

And whereas the nominations have not exceeded the number of vacancies, I hereby publicly declare the aforesaid candidates duly elected in accordance with section 11 of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto subsisting between GEORGE RODERICK JOYCE and JOHN STEVENS, carrying on business at Timaru as Printers, under the style of “Joyce and Stevens,” has been dissolved as from the date hereof by the retirement of Mr. G. R. Joyce. Mr. Stevens will carry on the business as heretofore in the same premises, and it is requested that all accounts owing to the late Partnership be paid to him.

THE KAIAPOI SHIPPING AND TRADING COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of THE KAIAPOI SHIPPING AND TRADING COMPANY, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above company, duly convened and held at Kaiapoi on the 22nd day of April, 1929, the following extraordinary resolutions were duly passed :-

“ That the sale of the business and assets of the Kaiapoi Shipping and Trading Co., Ltd., as set out in agreement dated 30th day of July, 1928, to Blackwells’ Kaiapoi, Ltd., is hereby confirmed, and for the purpose of giving effect to such sale the following extraordinary resolution is also hereby passed.”

“ That it having been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the said company therefore be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. WILLIAM ALEXANDER YOUNG, of Kaiapoi, Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up to give effect to the said agreement for sale.”
