Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Kawhia County.—Hauturu Village.

SECTION 12: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £5.

Situated on the Oparau-Kinohaku Road, 100 yds. from Hauturu School, one mile from the post-office, six miles from Oparau, and thirty miles from Te Kawa Railway-station.

Section low-lying and swampy. Ragwort and blackberry in evidence.

Raglan County.—Mangati Village.

Section 12: Area, 1 acre 1 rood 32 perches. Upset price, £8.

Weighted with £21 5s. for improvements, comprising grassing and approximately 14 chains of fencing; payable in cash.

Situated on Karaka Road, Te Akau, two miles from Mangati School, one mile from store, and twenty-eight miles by metalled road from Ngaruawahia. Section undulating to level, on creek bank. Approximately half in grass. The soil is a shallow chocolate loam resting on clay formation; well watered by creek.

THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Kawhia County.—Kawhia North Survey District.

Section 4, Block V: Area, 58 acres 0 roods 13 perches. Upset price, £20.

Situated off the Oparau-Kawhia Road, one mile and a half from Kawhia Post-office and school, and seven miles from Oparau. Access by metalled road from Te Awamutu, which is forty-five miles distant.

The section lies high, and is undulating, the soil being sandy on a sandy formation. At present all in stunted manuka. Section is unwatered.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Tauranga County.—Moturiki Town.

Section 6, Block II: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £10.

Section 8, Block II: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £8.

Section 10, Block II: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £8.

Section 12, Block IV: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £8.

Section 25, Block IV: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £9.

Section 22, Block V: Area, 1 rood 8 perches. Upset price, £8.

Moturiki Township is situated on the eastern shores of the Tauranga Harbour, about one mile and a half from Tauranga, by launch.

Sections 6, 8, and 10, 22 and 25, are situated in Omanawhiri Street, and Section 12 in Ohinetama Street, half a mile distant from the store and post-office, at the Mount. Each section comprises practically flat land covered with stunted fern and manuka; soil of light sandy nature, wholly unimproved.

Waipa County.—Hamilton West Town Belt.

Lot 6 of Section 16: Area, 1 rood 6·3 perches. Upset price, £230.

Elevated residential section fronting Ohaupo Road, close to the lake and park, commanding one of the best views in Hamilton. Situated in one of Hamilton’s finest building localities.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Waikato County.—Taupiri Parish.

Section 252: Area, 22 acres 3 roods 34 perches. Upset price, £70.

Section 253: Area, 23 acres 0 roods 12 perches. Upset price, £70.

Sections are situated on the Ohinewai-Tahuna Road, nine miles from Ohinewai Railway-station by good metalled road, and two miles from Te Hoe School and post-office. Undulating fern and tea-tree land, all ploughable, the soil being a light loam of fair quality resting on clay formation. Watered by springs.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Waikato County.—Te Kauwhata Suburbs.

Sections 13, 14, and 30: Area, 3 acres 0 roods 37 perches. Upset price, £50.

Weighted with £14, valuation for improvements comprising cultivation and fencing; payable in cash.

Situated on the south side Mahi Road, with side frontage to Rata Street, Township of Te Kauwhata. Roads are not formed. Access is from the railway-station, about half a mile distant, school and store approximately quarter of a mile from sections.

Area comprises undulating land, all of which has been cleared, ploughed, and portions grassed. The soil is of light loam resting on clay formation.

Waikato County.—Whangamarino Parish.

Section 45: Area, 17 acres 2 roods 28 perches. Upset price, £30.

Section is situated near Taniwha Settlement, ten miles from Te Kauwhata; access being from railway-station, seven miles and a half by good metalled road and two miles and a half by formed clay road. Waikare School and Waerenga Post-office are each three miles and a half distant.

The soil is of a poor clay nature resting on clay formation; unwatered. Section comprises undulating to hilly ploughable land, at present in fern and tea-tree.

Thames County.—Tairua Settlement.

Section 4s: Area, 6 acres 1 rood 25 perches. Upset price, £60.

Weighted with £220, valuation for improvements comprising dwelling (25 ft. by 32 ft.), four rooms and scullery, with iron roof and chimney and leanto (10 ft. by 12 ft.), value £220. Repayable in cash or in fourteen years by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £11. 2s. 3d.

Tairua Village and Settlement are situated on the Tairua Harbour, which lies on the eastern side of the Hauraki Peninsula. There is a steamer service from Auckland once a week, the journey occupying about twelve hours. Access may also be obtained overland, either by the Kauaeranga Track from Thames, or from Puriri Railway-station, which is nine miles from Thames, the distance from Puriri being about twenty-two miles, of which about ten miles is formed and metalled cart-road, the remainder being horse-track only.

Approximately 2 acres ploughable, balance of section hilly to steep.
