AKITIO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Akitio County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges in a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Akitio County Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of metalling the Akitio River Road from the point where the road boundary adjoins the western side of Section 5A, Block VI, Mount Cerberus Survey District, to the Cadmus Ford on the Akitio River, the said Akitio County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one half-penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property in the Akitio River Road Special-rating Area, comprising all those properties within the Wellington Land District in the County of Akitio, bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 28, Block VII, Waimata Survey District, on the sea-coast at the mouth of the Akitio River, along the southern boundary of the said Section 28, Block VII, Waimata Survey District, in a north-westerly direction to the south-western corner of the said section; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of the said Section 28, Block VII, and 27, Block V, Waimata Survey District, to a point on the western boundary of the said Section 27, Block V, Waimata Survey District, at the south-eastern corner of Section 177, Block V, Waimata Survey District; thence in a westerly and then northerly direction along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 177, Block V, Waimata Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Section 178, Block V, Waimata Survey District; thence in a north-westerly and southerly direction along the northern and western boundaries of the said Section 178, Block V, Waimata Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 181, Block IV, Aohanga Survey District; thence in a westerly and northerly direction along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 181, Block IV, Aohanga Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 106, Block IV, Aohanga Survey District; thence in a westerly and northerly direction along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 106, Block IV, Aohanga Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 108, Block XI, Mount Cerberus Survey District; thence in a southerly and westerly and north-westerly direction along the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 9, Block VI, Mount Cerberus Survey District, to a point in the Masterton-Weber Main Highway No. 63; thence in a generally northerly direction along the said highway and along the western boundaries of Sections 9, 8, and 7, Block VI, Mount Cerberus Survey District, to a point on the south-western boundary of the said Section 7, Block VI, Mount Cerberus Survey District; thence across the said highway and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 13A, Block VI, Mount Cerberus Survey District, to the most easterly point on the eastern boundary of the said Section 13A, Block III, Mount Cerberus Survey District; thence in a generally northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said Section 13A, and along the western boundary of Section 2, Block III, Mount Cerberus Survey District, to the county boundary; thence in south-easterly direction along the said boundary to the Mount Arthur Trig.; thence, excluding all the land within the Akitio Soldiers Settlement, being part Sections 212, 54, 56, 58, 60, 61, 165, and Sections 164, 163, 55, 57, 59, 62, and 63, Blocks III and VII, Mount Cerberus, and Block I, Waimata Survey Districts, and containing an area of 3,529 acres and 16 poles (more or less), more particularly delineated by a line from the said Mount Arthur Trig. in a southerly direction, approximately along the western and south-western boundaries of the said Sections 212, 55, 54, 56, 58, and 62, Blocks III and VII, Mount Cerberus, and Block I, Waimata Survey Districts, to a point on the Akitio River at the southernmost corner of the said Section 62, Waimata Survey District; thence along the said river to the eastern boundary of the said Section 62, Block I, Waimata Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction and then north-westerly direction along the eastern boundaries of the said Section 62 and Sections 63 and 61, Block I, Waimata Survey District, to a point on the Glenora Road at the easternmost point of the said Section 61, Block I, Waimata Survey District; thence along the said road to the county boundary; thence along the said county boundary to the boundary of the Speedy Estate, being Lot 1, D.P. 2119, of Sections 168/70, 167, 175, Block IV, Waimata Survey District, and containing an area 2,883 acres 3 roods, more or less, more particularly delineated by a line from a point on the said county boundary on the northern boundary of Section 167, Block VI, Waimata Survey District; thence in a generally southerly and thence south-easterly direction through the said Section 167, to the old bullock-track; thence along the said bullock-track in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately half a mile; thence in a south-easterly direction in a direct line to the sea-coast; thence in a generally south-westerly direction along the said coast, and crossing the Akitio River mouth to the point of commencement, and containing all the land within the said delineation—and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, a general meeting of the A. AND L. SEIFERT’S FLAXDRESSING CO., LTD. (in voluntary liquidation), will be held at the office of Alfred Seifert, Palmerston North, on Monday, 11th February, 1929, at 5 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of having laid before the meeting the account of the Liquidators showing the manner in which the liquidation has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and of having an explanation thereof given by the Liquidators.

The company will be asked to declare by resolution how the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidators are to be disposed of.

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

Waihau Road Special-rating District Loan, £450.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four hundred and fifty pounds (£450), authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for forming and metalling the Waihau Road, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny (1d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Waihau Road Special-rating District, comprising Lots 3/4, 10/11, 18/20, 21/24, 25/27, 29/34 (D.P. 2291), Arapaepae Estate, Block I, Waiopehu Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a duly called and constituted meeting of the Horowhenua County Council held on the 19th day of January, 1929.
