That, for the purpose of providing for payment of interest and sinking fund on the Kahutara River Board Loan of £2,000 (1928), authorized to be raised by the Kahutara River Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of river protection, the said board hereby levies and makes a special rate of thirteen thirty-seconds (13/32nds) of one penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable properties in the whole of the Kahutara River District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BUCKLEY DRAINAGE BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE IN CONNECTION WITH THE KOPUTAROA LOAN, 1928, OF THE BUCKLEY DRAINAGE BOARD.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Buckley Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the Buckley Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of enabling the Buckley Drainage Board to undertake and carry out the deepening of the Koputaroa Stream and the grading of the bed of the said stream from the railway-bridge crossing the said stream to the junction of the stream with the Manawatu River, the said Buckley Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the subdivisional classification of the Koputaroa Subdivision on the following graduated scale: 1½d. in the pound on the capital value of lands classified “A” in the Koputaroa Subdivision of the Buckley Drainage District; ⅝d. in the pound on the capital value of lands classified “B” in the Koputaroa Subdivision of the Buckley Drainage District; ¼d. in the pound on the capital value of lands classified “C” in the Koputaroa Subdivision of the Buckley Drainage District; such rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be paid annually on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, and being for a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MANGONUI COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mangonui County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Commerce Street, Kaitaia, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

Approximate area of parcels of land required to be taken: 1 acre 1 rood 16 perches.
Being portion of Section No. O.L.C. 6; coloured red.
Situated in the Opoe Survey District, Mangonui County.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned ARTHUR PETER McCARTHY and WALTER DOUGLAS McCARTHY, carrying on business at Dunedin and Invercargill as Gunsmiths and Sporting-goods Dealers and Importers, under the style or firm of “A. and W. McCarthy,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of January, 1929. The said Walter Douglas McCarthy retires from the said businesses, and the same will henceforth be carried on by the said Arthur Peter McCarthy under the old style of “A. and W. McCarthy.” All debts due to and owing by the late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said Arthur Peter McCarthy.
