Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 11th April, 1929.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Otorohanga County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

OTOROHANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Pekanui Special-rating Area.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Otorohanga to borrow a sum of £200 for forming, culverting, and metalling 110 chains of Pekanui Road through Waiwhakaata No. 3E No. 2, Block X, Pirongia Survey District, commencing at the Pekanui Stream Bridge and extending northwards for a distance of 110 chains, the number of votes recorded were: For the proposal, 4; against the proposal, Nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Special Order made by the Timaru Borough Council altering the Total Number of Members of the Council.

THE following special order, made by the Timaru Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.

SPECIAL ORDER.

Timaru Borough Council.

PROPOSED by Jas. R. Hart; seconded by John Hutchison; That this Council do now resolve that the following resolution, namely:—

RESOLUTION.

“That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the section 142 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Timaru Borough Council resolves as follows: (1) Exclusive of the Mayor the said Timaru Borough Council shall consist of nine members; (2) the alteration hereby made in the number of members of the said Council shall take effect on and after the 1st day of May, 1929, and the Councillors to be elected in the month of May, 1929, shall be elected in accordance with the provisions of this special order.”

Which resolution was adopted by the said Council at a special meeting thereof held on the 25th February, 1929, be now confirmed as a special order.

Passed by the Timaru Borough Council and sealed with the corporate seal of the Borough of Timaru, this 25th day of March, 1929.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancies on Hokitika, Greymouth, and Westport Fire Boards.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 30th April, 1929, to be the date for holding the election of one member of each of the Hokitika, Greymouth, and Westport Fire Boards by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancies caused by the resignation of Mr. F. C. Haycraft.
