Section 7s: About 11 acres easy undulating land in grass, 35 acres hilly country in grass, 35 acres in tea-tree with little grass; balance fair swamp. Fair amount of blackberry.

Improvements included in capital value: 77½ chains fencing (totara posts, seven wires); 18 chains draining; 30 acres swamp cleared, felled, and grassed; 46 acres felling and grassing; and two windmill frames. Value, £508 10s.

Section 8s: About 77 acres hilly country in grass with some tea-tree and fern; about 48 acres swamp in grass, rushes, and cutty grass; balance unimproved swamp. Badly affected with blackberries.

Improvements included in capital value: 58 chains fencing (totara posts, seven wires); 52 chains draining; 77 acres felling and grassing; 48 acres swamp felled, cleared, and grassed. Value, £725.

Section 9s: About 20 acres hilly land in tea-tree, fern, and grass; 96 acres poor hilly country in tea-tree; balance swamp in grass with some rushes and cutty grass. Fair sprinkling of blackberry.

Improvements included in capital value: 123 chains fencing (totara posts, six and seven wires); 20 acres felling and grassing (reverting to fern and tea-tree); 89 acres swamp cleared, logged, and grassed; 16 chains of draining. Value, £695.

Section 10s: About 76 acres hills in grass, 20 acres hills in tea-tree scrub; balance raupo swamp. No noxious weeds.

Section 11s: About 135 acres poor tea-tree scrub land, undulating to level; balance raupo and wiwi swamp. No noxious weeds.

Section 13s: About 136 acres hilly country in good grass; 48 acres swamp in grass, rushes, and cutty grass; balance raupo swamp. No noxious weeds.

Improvements included in capital value: 127 chains fencing (totara posts, seven wires); 70 chains draining; 136 acres cleared, logged, and grassed; 48 acres swamp cleared, logged, and grassed; and one concrete trough and ballcock. Value, £1,180.

Section 14s: About 158 acres hilly to undulating country in grass, with a little fern; balance scattered swamp grass and rough feed. Few blackberries.

Improvements included in capital value: 111½ chains fencing (totara posts, seven wires), 158 acres felling and grassing, 14 acres swamp partly grassed and cleared. Value, £631.

Sections 15s and 16s: About 590 acres hilly country in grass and fern, 30 acres good swamp grassed, 60 acres fair swamp in grass and rushes, 73 acres raupo swamp, 20 acres poor tea-tree hills; balance good green bush. Fair amount of blackberry on hilly portion.

Improvements included in capital value: 394½ chains fencing (totara posts, seven wires); 590 acres felling, clearing, and grassing; 90 acres swamp cleared, burnt, and grassed. Value, £2,704 10s.

Section 17s: About 55 acres hills in grass, 33 acres hills covered with tea-tree; balance good raupo swamp. No noxious weeds.

Improvements included in capital value: 71 chains fencing (totara posts, seven wires), 30 chains draining, 52 acres felling and grassing. Value, £304.

Section 19s: About 35 acres poor flat gum land in tea-tree; 40 acres raupo swamp; balance swamp covered with bush. No noxious weeds.

Improvements included in capital value: 25 chains draining. Value, £100.

Section 20s: About 22 acres poor gum land flat, in tea-tree scrub; 52 acres swamp covered with bush; balance raupo swamp. No noxious weeds. No improvements.

BUILDINGS.

The following improvements are not included in the capital value, and must be paid for separately:—

Section 2s: Cowshed (kauri timber, iron roof, patent doors); engine-room and separator-room (concrete floor and yard); windmill, artesian bore, wooden tank, and high stand; two concrete troughs and several pigstyes. These are valued at £195, and must be paid for in cash, or in ten years by twenty half-yearly instalments of £12 12s. 6d. each, principal and interest.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS.

Each selector shall properly fence off the stopbank and existing drains through or adjacent to his section, and shall efficiently maintain these fences and drains.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Lands for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the fifteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Kairanga County.—Kairanga Survey District.—Westella Settlement.

SECTION 1: Area, 66 acres 3 roods 31 perches. Capital value, £3,000. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £75; £13 16s. 11d.
Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £355, payable in cash or by forty-two half-yearly instalments of £13 16s. 11d. Total half-yearly payment on lease £88 16s. 11d. The buildings comprise dwelling, cowshed, &c.

Section 2: Area, 68 acres 1 rood 31 perches. Capital value, £3,600. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £90; £11 2s. 4d.
Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £285, payable in cash or by forty-two half-yearly instalments of £11 2s. 4d. Total half-yearly payment on lease £101 2s. 4d. The buildings comprise dwelling and out-buildings.
