Special Order made by the Waihi Borough Council altering the Total Number of Members of the Council.

THE following special order, made by the Waihi Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.

WAHI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Order reducing the Number of Councillors from Ten to Six.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 142 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Waihi Borough Council resolves by way of special order as follows:—

“Whereas in the past the Waihi Borough Council has consisted of ten (10) Councillors, exclusive of the Mayor, and it is expedient that this number be reduced, it is hereby resolved that the Council consist of six (6) members, exclusive of the Mayor.”

The common seal of the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Waihi was hereto affixed by order of the Waihi Borough Council this 3rd day of April, 1929, in the presence of—

Dissolution of Pukekura Park Board.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 26th March, 1929.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 18 of the Taranaki Botanic Garden Act, 1876, dissolved the Board of Trustees for Public Recreation appointed under the provisions of the said Act, all the members of such Board having petitioned for such dissolution.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IX, Waitohu Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Otaki, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken:—

A. R. P. Being Portion of
0 0 3·75 Moutere-Hanganaoiho No. 1; coloured red.
0 0 0·09 Bed of Haruatai Stream; coloured yellow.
0 0 1·66 Lot 2, D.P. 633, being part Hanganaoiho No. 1; coloured blue.

Situated in Block IX, Waitohu Survey District (Borough of Otaki). (S.O. 2446.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 74731, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Notice of Intention to take additional Land in Block I, Whakatane Survey District, for the Purposes of a Native School.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a Native school. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Poroporo, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 acre.

Being portion of Lot 30c No. 6, Rangitaiki Parish.

Situated in Block I, Whakatane Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 25012.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 74657, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VI, Maramarua Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Whangamarino, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 26·7 perches.

Being portion of Allotment 303, Parish of Whangamarino.

Situated in Block VI, Maramarua Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 25120.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 75107, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Applying the Provisions of Section 135 of the Public Works Act, 1928, to the Ruamahunga River Bridge, at Te Ore Ore, on the Masterton—Weber via Alfredton Main Highway.

WHEREAS by resolution dated the 28th February, 1929, the Main Highways Board recommends, in pursuance of section 7 of the Main Highways Act, 1925, that the provisions of section 135 of the Public Works Act, 1928, be applied to the Ruamahunga River Bridge, at Te Ore Ore, on the Masterton—Weber via Alfredton Main Highway.

Now, therefore, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Minister of Public Works, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1925, and of every other power in anywise enabling him in this behalf, do hereby declare that the provisions of section 135 of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall apply with respect to the apportionment of the cost of construction of the Ruamahunga River Bridge, at Te Ore Ore, on the Masterton—Weber via Alfredton Main Highway.
