Notifying Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction, for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Hawke’s Bay County.—Patoka Survey District.

SECTION 15, Block II: Area, 200 acres. Upset price, £600. Deposit on deferred payments, £50.

Situated thirty-nine miles from Napier, one mile from the Puketitiri School. Suitable for grazing; watered by streams; 199 acres consist of bush land partly felled (milling-timber all taken out and remaining light bush fired). Large patches of forglove. Carrying capacity at present nil, but when cleared and properly grassed should carry 200 breeding ewes and 50 dry sheep.

The fencing, which practically extends around three sides of the section, and has been partially damaged by fire, is included in the price of the land.

Hawke’s Bay County.—Pohui Survey District.

Section 26, Block XIV: Area, 32 acres 1 rood 30 perches. Upset price, £150. Deposit on deferred payments, £30.

Situated thirty-seven miles from Napier, close to the Puketitiri School. Carrying capacity, thirty breeding ewes. Watered by springs; easy slopes lying towards the south. Soil somewhat light on pumice formation. Originally in mixed bush, now all felled. Certain amount of foxglove and blackberry.

There is a certain amount of old fencing which is included in the price of the land.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Ohakune Borough Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Ohakune Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be three years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.

OHAKUNE SCENIC RESERVE.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

SUBURBAN SECTION No. 40, Town of Ohakune: Area, 4 acres 3 roods 4 perches, more or less.

Changing the Purpose of Portions of Reserves in Patetere North Survey District, Auckland Land District.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto form portions of reserves duly set apart for the use of the Department of Agriculture, being a purpose within Class II of the Second Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908:

And whereas it is expedient that such lands should be appropriated for recreation purposes, being a purpose within Class III of the said Second Schedule:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said lands shall, from and after the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, be appropriated for recreation purposes under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 1 rood 7 perches, more or less, being Lot I of Section 12, Block II, Patetere North Survey District, bounded towards the north by a public road, 310·3 links; towards the east by Section 11 (Tirau Domain), Block II, Patetere North Survey District, 100 links; towards the south by Lot 1 of Section 2, Block II, Patetere North Survey District, 279·4 links; towards the west by Lot 2 of Section 12, Block II, Patetere North Survey District, 104·7 links.

Also all that area in the Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 2 acres 3 roods 5 perches, more or less, being Lot 1 of Section 2, Block II, Patetere North Survey District, bounded towards the north by Lot 1 of Section 12, Block II, Patetere North Survey District, 279·4 links; towards the east by Section 11 (Tirau Domain), Block II, Patetere North Survey District, 987·2 links; towards the south by Section 3, Block II, Patetere North Survey District, 306·3 links; towards the west by Lot 2 of Section 2, Block II, Patetere North Survey District, 993·7 links: Be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/3374, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

William Murray,
James Foster,
John Craig, and
Kenneth Edward McDonald

to be trustees to have the maintenance and care of the Mokoreta Public Cemetery, as described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

MOKORETA PUBLIC CEMETERY.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 17 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Section 35, Block IV, Mokoreta Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 18 of the same block; towards the east by Section 23, Block V, of the same survey district; and towards the south-west by a road-line.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor General, this 21st day of March, 1929.
