of April, 1929 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22,
and all regulations and notifications affecting fallow-deer
bucks and does made thereunder and in force within the
said district.

This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take
or kill fallow-deer bucks or does on lands actually and
exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society
for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public
domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the
notification declaring an open season for the district.

Open Season for Deer-shooting, Tauranga Acclimatization
District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Philip Aldborough
de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st
day of March, 1929, to the 7th day of April, 1929 (both days
inclusive), to be an open season in the Tauranga Acclimatization District, described in the First Schedule hereto, for the
taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., red-
deer stags and hinds—subject to the following conditions.


CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds may be
    issued by the Postmaster at Tauranga, on payment of a license
    fee of £1 1s., in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule
    hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder
    and this notification. The number of licenses to be issued by
    the said Postmaster shall not exceed fifteen: Provided that
    not more than one such license shall be issued to the same
    person.

  2. No licensee shall take or kill more than two red-deer stags
    and one hind; no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with
    less than eight points. Ball cartridge only to be used; provided
    that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullets shall be used
    for killing such deer.

  3. No fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever;
    and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either
    himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  4. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing
    any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  5. Regulations as to the use of marks of identification of
    deer-heads contained in section 6 of the regulations under
    the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, published in
    the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th February, 1924, page
    437, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in
    addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the
    Secretary of the Tauranga Acclimatization Society, Tauranga,
    immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which
    such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of
    the number of deer shot.

  6. Nothing in any license to take or kill red-deer stags and
    hinds shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer
    stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any
    registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes,
    or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open
    season for the district.

  7. Any person committing a breach of these conditions is
    liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District commencing at
a point on the sea-coast due north of Trig. Station J1, in
Block IV, Waihi South Survey District, proceeding thence
due south to a point due east of Trig. Station Otane Wainuku ;
thence by a right line running due west to Trig. Station Otane

Wainuku, aforesaid, and passing through that station to its
intersection with a line running between Trig. Stations Pu-
whenua and Weraiti; thence by a right line to Trig. Station
Weraiti; thence by a right line to Waranunanu; thence
north-westerly along the western boundary of Whakamarama
No. 2 to Trig. Station Mimiohanga ; thence generally north-
westerly along the summit of the range and passing through
Te Ariariparitupu, Pukupenga Ngatamahinerua, and on to its
intersection with the confiscation boundary ; thence south-
westerly along the confiscation boundary to Te Aroha Trig.
Station ; thence by a right line to the mouth of the Waihi
River; thence south-easterly along the sea-coast to the place
of commencement, and including Mayor and Karewa Islands.

License to take or kill Imported Game (Deer).

, of , having this day paid the sum of
£1 1s., is hereby authorized to take or kill two red-deer stags
of not less than eight points and one hind within the Tau-
ranga Acclimatization District, from the 1st day of March,
1929, to the 7th day of April, 1929 (both days inclusive),
subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game
Act, 1921-22, and all regulations and notifications affecting
red-deer stags and hinds made thereunder and in force
within the said district.

This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or
kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively
used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatiza-
tion purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any
land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring
an open season for the district.

District.

of March, 1929, to the 30th day of June, 1929 (both days in-
clusive), to be an open season in the Grey District Acclima-
tization District, described in the First Schedule hereto, for
the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz.,
red-deer stags and hinds and fallow-deer bucks and does—
subject to the following conditions.


CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds and
    fallow-deer bucks and does may be issued by the Chief
    Postmaster at Greymouth, on payment of a license fee of
    £2, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto,
    and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and
    this notification: Provided that not more than one such
    license shall be issued to the same person.

  2. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing
    any person to sell any deer or portion thereof. Ball cartridge
