School Colours.

THE registration of school colours notified in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th March, 1915, to have been effected in respect to St. Philomena’s College, Dunedin, under the regulations published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 10th July, 1913, is hereby cancelled, and the following registration substituted therefor, under the regulations published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th August, 1915.

Colours.—Black and green. A black hat-band 2 in. wide with light green diagonal stripes ⅜ in. wide and 1 in. apart. On the band in front of the hat the school badge will be worn.

Monogram.—Letters “S.P.C.” in oxidized silver.


Election of Members of Fire Boards by Insurance Companies.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, it is hereby notified that an election by the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand of members of the undermentioned Fire Boards will be held on Monday, the 18th February, 1929, in the manner prescribed by the said Act and rules. The number of members to be elected in the case of Auckland, Wanganui, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin Fire Boards shall be three, in all others, two members:—

Cancellation of Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of Tobacconists’ Shops in the Borough of Otaki.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Otaki, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the notice dated the 16th August, 1927, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 25th August, 1927, fixing the closing-hours of tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Otaki be cancelled:

And whereas I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that the said notice shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date hereof.

Cancellation of Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, prohibiting the Sale within the Borough of Otaki of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Tobacconist.

WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Otaki, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the notice prohibiting the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a tobacconist, dated the 16th August, 1927, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 25th August, 1927, be cancelled:

And whereas I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that the said notice shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date hereof.
