PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, it is hereby notified that an election by the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand of members of the undermentioned Fire Boards will be held on Monday, the 18th February, 1929, in the manner prescribed by the said Act and rules. Cancellation of Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of Tobacconists’ Shops in the Borough of Otaki.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Otaki, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the notice dated the 16th August, 1927, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 25th August, 1927, fixing the closing-hours of tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Otaki be cancelled:

And whereas I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that the said notice shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date hereof.

And whereas I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that the said notice shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date hereof.
