COAST RIDING.
All that area in the Gisborne Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the seashore at the south-western corner of Whangaraparoa No. 1A Block, situated in Block II, Whaangaparaoa Survey District; proceeding in an easterly and southerly direction generally by the western boundary of the Matakaoa County to Trigonometrical Station Pakira on the north-western boundary of the Waiapu County, and following the descriptions as contained in New Zealand Gazette, 1915, page 3547, and New Zealand Statutes, 1919, page 303; thence in a south-westerly direction by the western boundary of the aforementioned Waiapu County to the point where the said boundary is intersected by the Ruatahunga Stream, and following the description as contained in New Zealand Statutes, 1919, page 302; thence in a north-westerly direction up the centre of the aforesaid Ruatahunga Stream, and by the north-eastern boundary of the Maungawaru Block, and down the centre of the Kahika Stream to its confluence with the Motu River; thence in a south-westerly direction up the centre of the said Motu River to a point in line by the production of the original Kapuarangi and Takaputahi Blocks to the centre of the Motu River; thence in a westerly direction by the southern boundary of the aforementioned Kapuarangi Block and Lot 4, Torere Block, to the eastern boundary of Opape 12DYE Block; thence in a northerly and north-westerly direction by the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid Opape 12DYE and 12K and c Nos. 11, 10, 9, 8, and No. 1 to the sea; thence in a north-easterly direction along the sea-shore to the place of commencement.
I hereby certify that the descriptions herein contained are correct, and sufficient to identify the boundaries of the Coast Riding in the Opotiki County.

Special Order made by the Ohura County Council altering Riding Boundaries and adjusting Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Ohura County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.
Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 31st day of March, 1929, as the date from which the special order shall take effect.

A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE OHURA COUNTY COUNCIL WAS HELD ON THE 14th OCTOBER, 1928.
Alteration of Riding Boundaries.
PRESENT : Councillors Romayne (Chairman), Denison, Sandison, Robinson, Caird, McKenzie, Fullerton-Smith, Jebb.
Moved by Cr. Romayne and seconded by Cr. Fullerton-Smith :
"In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Ohura County Council resolves by way of special order as follows :—
"(1) The present division of the County of Ohura into eight ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into two ridings, to be called respectively Matiere Riding and Ohura Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.
"(2) The said Ohura County Council shall consist of six members, who shall be elected as follows: The electors of Matiere Riding and Ohura Riding shall each elect three councillors.
"(3) The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the 31st March, 1929."
SCHEDULE.
MATIERE RIDING.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue
River in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block VII, Tangitu Survey District; thence down the middle of the Ongarue River to a point in line with the north boundary of Section 4B, Block II, Rangi Survey District; thence westerly and southerly along the boundary of the Taumarunui County to Te Tawa Trig. Station; thence westerly along the north side of the Ararimu Road to its junction with the Waitangata Road; thence across the latter road to the easternmost corner of Section 2, Block VII, Ohura Survey District; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block VII, Ohura Survey District, to the block-line; thence north-easterly along the said block-line to the southern boundary of Section 16, Block III, Ohura Survey District; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of the said Section 16 to the south-east corner of Section 13, Block III. Ohura Survey District ; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the said Section 13 to the Ohura Road; thence across the Ohura Road, and north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 12 and 25, crossing also the railway reserve in the same line, in Block III, Ohura Survey District, continued to the middle of the Ohura River; thence down the Ohura River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 11, Block II, Ohura Survey District ; thence north-westerly to and along the south-western boundary of the said Section 11 to the south-eastern boundary of Section 16, Block II, Ohura Survey District ; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 11, 10, and 7, Block II, Ohura Survey District, to and in the same line across the Prentice Road; thence westerly and northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 19 and 20, Block II, Ohura Survey District, Sections 20 and 24, Block XIV, Aria Survey District, Sections 2 and 26, Block XV, Aria Survey District, Sections 9 and 8, Block X, Aria Survey District, to the north-western corner of the said Section 8; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the said Section 8 to the eastern boundary of Block X, Aria Survey District; thence northerly along the said block boundary to the boundary of the Waitomo County; thence generally easterly along the Waitomo County boundary to the place of commencement.
OHURA RIDING.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-east corner of Block X, Aria Survey District, and proceeding in a southerly direction along the western boundary of the Matiere Riding, hereinbefore described, to Te Tawa Trig. Station; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of the Taumarunui County to the middle of the Wanganui River; thence down the middle of that river to its confluence with the Ohura River; thence up the middle of the Ohura River to the 39° parallel of south latitude; thence westerly along the said 39° parallel of south latitude to the western boundary of Ohura County; thence generally northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of the Ohura County to the place of commencement.

CERTIFICATE.
As required by section 100 of the Counties Act, 1920, I hereby certify that the attached Schedule is a correct description of the boundaries of the proposed Matiere and Ohura Ridings of the Ohura County, and is sufficient to render such boundaries capable of identification as indicated by a pink border on the lithograph submitted by the Ohura County Council.

Notice respecting Proposed Alterations of Boundaries.—Borough of New Plymouth.

Wellington, 5th March, 1929.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Borough of New Plymouth and included in the County of Taranaki. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
