A two-years remission of rent will be allowed subject to
equivalent value of improvements being effected to the
satisfaction of the Land Board.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public
Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land
Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Thursday, the eleventh day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-nine, as the time at which the lands
described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public
auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby
fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

These sections, which comprise principally level land, are
situated within three-quarters of a mile of Te Kuiti Post-office
and railway-station, and are most suitable for residential or
business purposes.

Opening Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General
Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands
described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection
on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-second day of April,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, at the rental
mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that
the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the pro-
visions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.—
NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.
Rangitikei County.—Maungakaretu Survey District.
SUBDIVISION 1 (S.O. Plan 81/33), Blocks IV and VIII: Area,
1,491 acres 2 roods 20 perches. Capital value, £1,030.
Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £20 12s.
Subdivision 2 (S.O. Plan 81/33), Block VIII: Area, 1,332
acres. Capital value, £1,770. Renewable lease: Half-
yearly rent, £35 8s.
Situated about thirteen miles from Taihape, on the Main
Trunk Railway. Access by good metalled road. The
Hihitahi Railway-station practically adjoins the property on
the south-eastern corner. Undulating to broken country;
well watered; fair soil. Altitude, 2,500 ft. to 3,000 ft. above
sea-level. Bush area has been milled. Both sections have
suitable sites for buildings and yards.
Subdivision 1 comprises about 80 acres standing bush,
400 acres swamp, and balance tussock. Holding is subject
to a tramway easement as shown on the plan.
Subdivision 2 contains about 1,120 acres standing bush,
and balance tussock.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the
amendments thereof, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson,
Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby declare and provide as follows, this is to say:—
- The rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto are
hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on
Monday, the twenty-second day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-nine, at the prices specified in the said
Schedule, and for the purposes of section one hundred and
thirty-three of the Land Act, 1924, shall be deemed to be
“heavy-bush lands.” - The said lands may be purchased for cash or on deferred
payments, or be selected on renewable lease. - No general rate shall be levied or collected by any
local authority from the said land for a period of two years
and a half from the date from which in each case respectively
such land is disposed of, and no local authority shall have
power to levy or collect any such rate from such land during
such period. - After the first half-year’s rent (or the deposit on deferred
payments, as the case may be) has been paid by the selector,
the further instalments of rent (or such parts of the instal-
ments on deferred payments as consists of interest), payable by
him for a period of two years and a half shall not be demanded:
Provided that if at any time during the first five years of his
occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land,
the rent or interest so conceded shall be paid by him in full,
and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments
of rent or interest payable by the incoming tenant, not ex-
ceeding in the aggregate the amount previously conceded to
the selector, as the Board shall think fit.
