IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments, and in the matter of STEEL WARD, LIMITED (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 7th day of February, 1929, presented to Mr. Justice MacGregor, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by Robert Harvey Cawley, a creditor of the said company, and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on the 28th day of February, 1929, and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing (by himself or his counsel) for that purpose, and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held on Thursday, the 14th February, 1929, it was resolved that this company be placed into voluntary liquidation as from that date by the under-mentioned resolution:—

“That as it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the company accordingly be wound up voluntarily as from the 14th day of February, 1929.”

CONSEQUENT upon the appointment of Mr. Robert Kennedy as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, the Partnership in the practice of Barristers and Solicitors hitherto existing between him and Mr. Arthur James Luke, LL.B., under the style of “Luke and Kennedy,” has been dissolved as from the 1st day of February, 1929.

Mr. Luke has taken into partnership with him Mr. William Henry Cunningham, Crown Solicitor and Prosecutor at Wanganui, and Mr. Frederick Temple Clere, LL.B., Barrister and Solicitor, of 8 Panama Street, Wellington. The practice will in future be carried on under the style of “Luke, Cunningham, and Clere” at the address of the late firm of Luke and Kennedy, Royal Insurance Building, 187 Featherston Street, Wellington.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that as from the 1st day of February, 1929, the Partnership theretofore subsisting between ALBERT THOMAS JOHNSTON and ALEXANDER McNICOL, in the business of Farmers, carried on by them at Waerenga, in the Provincial District of Auckland, under the firm name of “Johnston and McNicol,” has been dissolved by mutual consent. The said business is being carried on as from the date of dissolution by the said Albert Thomas Johnston.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto carried on by ARTHUR HENRY PRICE and ALFRED PERCIVAL PRICE as Motor Haulage Contractors and Carriers at Waimate, under the style of “Price Brothers,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from this date. The business will in future be carried on by Arthur Henry Price, who will still use the name of “Price Brothers.”

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Taradale Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000), (known as The Taradale Town Board Workers’ Dwellings Loan of £10,000, 1928), authorized to be raised by the Taradale Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing or acquiring land (with or without buildings thereon) and for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings on land so purchased or acquired, the said Taradale Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and five-eighths of a penny in
