Authorizing the Laying-off of Streets in the City of Auckland of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 50 ft., subject to the Condition as to the Building-line.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 11th day of February, 1929.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Auckland City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed streets described in the Schedule hereto of a width less than sixty-six feet but not less than fifty feet, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land, edged blue on the plan mentioned in the Schedule hereto and fronting the said streets, within a distance of thirty-five feet from the centre-line of the said streets.

SCHEDULE.

THOSE proposed streets in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, to be known as Humariri Street and Katoa Street, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 38·98 perches, more or less, being part of Allotment 21, Parish of Titirangi. As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 74224, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Authorizing the Acquisition of Native Land notwithstanding the Provisions as to Limitation of Area.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1927, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Order in Council, in any case in which he deems it expedient in the public interest so to do, authorize any acquisition, alienation, or disposition of any land, or any interest therein, notwithstanding the provisions of sections seventy-two to seventy-six (inclusive) of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, or of Part XII of the Native Land Act, 1909.

And whereas the Waikato-Maniopoto District Maori Land Board has recommended that the Governor-General should by Order in Council authorize, and it appears expedient to authorize the acquisition, alienation, or disposition of the land hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities hereinbefore mentioned and all other powers him enabling, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the acquisition and disposition by the Bank of New Zealand of the Native land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, notwithstanding the restriction or limitation imposed by the statutory provisions hereinbefore referred to.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land situated in the Waikato-Maniopoto Native Land Court District comprising an area of 378 acres 2 roods, more or less, and being part of the land known as Te Akau B 29 Block, delineated on deposited plan No. 8960, as the same is comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Vol. 231, folio 268, of the Auckland Land Registration District.

Altering Duty on Lemons.—(C. No. 61.)

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 11th day of February, 1929.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section twelve of the Customs Amendment Act, 1921, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby suspend the following portion of the existing Tariff (being the First Schedule to the Customs Amendment Act, 1927), relating to the duty on fruits, fresh—viz., lemons, (Tariff item 37 (3)), namely—

“(No duty exceeding 1d. per lb. shall be levied on any lemons on and from 1st November up to and including 31st March)”;

and doth direct that the following shall be substituted in lieu thereof, namely—

“(No duty exceeding 1d. per lb. shall be levied on any lemons on and from 1st November up to and including 30th April)”;

and doth further direct that duty shall be imposed on fruits, fresh—viz., lemons—in accordance with the Tariff as amended by this Order.

Appointment of Nireaha Domain Board revoked.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the fourteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and published in the Gazette of the seventeenth day of that month, a Domain Board was appointed to have control of the Nireaha Domain therein described:

And whereas it appears expedient to revoke the said Order in Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the aforesaid Order in Council dated the fourteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven.

Amending the Apportionment of Representation on the Cambridge Electric-power Board.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke, as from the date of the next general election of the representatives on the Cambridge Electric-power Board of the constituent district of portion of the Waikato County (formerly the Cambridge Road District), so much of the Order in Council dated the ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 34, of the nineteenth day of the same month, as refers to the said constituent district, and doth hereby determine as from the aforesaid date that the said
