Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land for the Development of Water-power (Arapuni Scheme) in Block XV, Maungatautari, and Blocks VIII and XII, Wharepapa Survey Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke so much of the Proclamation dated the eighteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 80, of the twenty-fourth day of the same month, taking land for the development of water-power (Arapuni Scheme) in Block XV, Maungatautari, and Blocks VIII and XII, Wharepapa Survey Districts, as affects the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land not required: 2 acres 2 roods 35 perches.
Being portion of Section 7A.

Situated in Block XV, Maungatautari Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 25034.)

In the Auckland Land District, as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 74374, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of February, 1929.

Police-gaol at Tolaga Bay to cease to be a Police-gaol.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, declare that any prison or police-gaol shall no longer be a prison or police-gaol; and upon the gazetting of such Proclamation, or from and after any later date fixed in such Proclamation for the purpose, such prison or police-gaol shall cease to be a prison or police-gaol:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that, from and after the gazetting of this Proclamation, the police-gaol at Tolaga Bay, in the Land District of Auckland, shall cease to be a police-gaol.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of February, 1929.

Proclaiming Native Land to have become Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia, that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become Crown land:

And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, and its amendments:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has become Crown land.

SCHEDULE.

TANGIHANGA Block, containing an area of 5,415 acres 2 roods 2 perches, more or less, situate in Blocks I, II, III, V, VI, and VII, Mangaoporo Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Vol. 55, folio 186, of the Land Registration District of Gisborne.

Mangaharei B1 Block, containing an area of 1,730 acres 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, situate in Blocks IV, Mata, and I, Waipiro Survey Districts, and being all the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Vol. 81, folio 101, of the Land Registration District of Gisborne.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of February, 1929.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1929.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by section nine of the Crimes Amendment Act, 1910, it is enacted that there shall be constituted a Board to be called “the Prisons Board,” consisting of not less than three nor more than seven persons: And whereas by the said section it is provided that the members of the Board shall be appointed from time to time by the Governor-General in Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Crimes Amendment Act, 1910, and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Honourable Alexander Lawrence Herdman

to be Acting President of the Prisons Board constituted under the Crimes Amendment Act, 1910, as aforesaid, vice Honourable John Ranken Reed, C.B.E., on leave.
