Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XII, Maungaharuru Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Tutira, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken:—

A. R. P. Being Portion of
0 1 29 Part Tutira Block; coloured orange.

Situated in Block XII, Maungaharuru Survey District (Hawke’s Bay R.D.).

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 73885, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.—Joint Special Loan under Part II.

NOTICE is hereby given that each of the local authorities named in the Schedule hereunder—(1) Has taken all the steps required to be taken under the above-named Act prior to the raising of a special loan of the amount set opposite the name of such local authority in the said Schedule; and (2) has passed a resolution, as required by Part II of the above-named Act, for the raising of a joint special loan of the amount of £1,000 in union with the other said local authority; and (3) has complied with all other conditions prescribed in the case of a joint special loan by the above-mentioned Act; and (4) has named the Selwyn County Council to be the agent of the other said local authority for the purposes of the joint special loan, and to be the principal local authority as defined in Part II of the said Act.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of Bakers’ Shops within the Borough of Masterton.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of bakers’ shops within the Borough of Masterton, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22:

And whereas I am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on and after the 28th day of January, 1929, all the said shops within the said borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 6 p.m., and on Fridays at 9.30 p.m., with the following exception—On the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day, the closing-hour shall be 10.30 p.m.

Dated at Wellington, this 4th day of January, 1929.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, prohibiting the Sale within the Borough of Masterton of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Baker.

WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the bakers’ shops within the Borough of Masterton has been forwarded to me, desiring that the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a baker—namely, bread, block cake, cakes, and pastry—be prohibited during such time as the said shops are required to be closed in pursuance of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22:

And whereas I am satisfied that the sale of the said goods is comprised in the said trade within the said borough, and that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the said Act, I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on and after the 28th day of January, 1929, the sale of the said goods within the said borough shall be and is hereby prohibited as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays after the hour of 6 p.m., and on Fridays after the hour of 9.30 p.m. with the following exception—On the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day, and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day, after the hour of 10.30 p.m.
