Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 24th December, 1928.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor, New Plymouth Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
JOSEPH WARD, Minister of Finance.
BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of New Plymouth was taken on the nineteenth day of December, 1928, upon a proposal to raise a special loan of seventy-six thousand five hundred pounds (£76,500), for the purpose of—(a) £40,340 for constructing a dam in the valley of the Mangamahoe Stream as an extension of the Council’s electric-light and power works; (b) £36,160 for extensions to the system of water-mains (generally known as the reticulation and supply mains) of the Borough water-works—
The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 1,175; the number of valid votes recorded against was 474; the total number of valid votes recorded was 1,649.
I therefore declare the said proposal carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Papatoetoe Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PAPATOETOE TOWN BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Papatoetoe taken on the 19th day of December, 1928, on the proposal of the Papatoetoe Town Board to borrow the sum of £40,000 for providing a water-supply, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 388; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 66.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Waipawa Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

WAIPAWA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Waipawa Borough was taken on the 19th day of December, 1928, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £650 for the purpose of tar-sealing Great North Road within the borough.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 75, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5. There was no informal votes.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Heathcote County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

HEATHCOTE COUNTY COUNCIL.
Mt. Pleasant Waterworks Loan, 1928, of £2,200.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers in the Mt. Pleasant Riding of the County of Heathcote, taken on the 19th day of December, 1928, on the above proposal to borrow the sum of £2,200 for waterworks extensions at Mt. Pleasant, the number of votes recorded for the proposal were as follows: For the proposal, 88; against the proposal, 13.
I therefore declare that the above proposal was carried.

Special Order made by the Otamatea County Council altering Riding Boundaries.

THE following special order, made by the Otamatea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.
Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 31st March, 1929, as the date from which the special order shall take effect.

Moved by Councillor Betts, seconded by Councillor Smith.
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Otamatea County Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, as follows:—
That the boundaries of the Matakoe and Paparoa Ridings be altered by excluding from the Matakoe Riding and including in the Paparoa Riding the following allotments: Allotments 137, S.W. 138, M. 138, N.E. 138, M. 139, N.E. 139, 139A, S.W. 140, N.E. 140, S.W. 141, N.E. 141, S.W. 142, M. 142, N.E. 142, N.E. 143, S.W. 143, 144, N.E. 145, S.W. 145, N.W. 146, S.E. 146, 147, S.W. 148, N.E. 148, S. 163, N.W. 163, S.E. 164, S.W. 164, N.W. 164, N. 165, S.E. 165, 166, 266, 268, 269, and 270.
