Land permanently reserved in the Wellington Land District for a Military Reserve.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by Warrant dated the seventeenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for a military reserve.

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for a military reserve for which the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 14 perches, more or less, being originally part of the land known as the Military Reserve, situate at Point Dorset, in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the north-western boundary of the said Military Reserve 310·69 links south of the northernmost corner of the said reserve; thence by a line bearing 198° 36′ 30″, being the south-eastern side of Hector Street, 606·06 links; thence by a line bearing 108° 36′ 30″, 303·03 links; thence by a line bearing 18° 36′ 30″, 606·06 links; and thence by a line bearing 288° 36′ 30″ 303·03 links, to the point of commencement: Be all the aforesaid linkages and bearings a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan numbered 39/46, deposited in the Wellington District Office, Department of Lands and Survey, and thereon coloured yellow.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in Block II, Alton Survey District, Southland Land District, in the Tuatapere Scenic Board, under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the land described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), in trust, for the purposes of scenery preservation, as from the date of this notice until the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the Tuatapere Scenic Board, as constituted by notification dated the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the second day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 32 perches, more or less, being Section 6R, Block II, Alton Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 650A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 27th day of December, 1928.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Taumarunui Borough Council.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Taumarunui Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be three years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 24 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Lot A, Block I, Hunua Survey District. As the same is delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 1/440, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of December, 1928.

Appointing a Member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section thirty-eight of the Harbours Act, 1923, that in the event of an extraordinary vacancy in the office of an elective member of a Harbour Board, other than a representative of a constituent district, the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place:

And whereas James Storry, an elective member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, being a representative of the combined district of the counties of Tawera, Paparua, Malvern, Springs, Ellesmere, Halswell, Heathcote, and Selwyn, is deceased, and an extraordinary vacancy in the membership of the Board has thereby been created, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person in his place:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint George Henry Judd to be a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board as a representative of the combined district aforesaid, in the place of the said James Storry, deceased.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of January, 1929.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Daisy Wright, being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Kumeu, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

As witness my hand, this 31st day of December, 1928.
