the power and authority conferred upon him by subsection two of section fifteen of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto to be the Maori Council for the Maori Council District of Araiteuru.

Authorizing the Devonport Borough Council to reclaim Land at Ngataringa Bay, Devonport, Auckland Harbour.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of December, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by the one hundred and sixty-eighth section of the Harbours Act, 1923 (hereinafter called the “said Act”), that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, authorize any local authority or Harbour Board to reclaim from the sea areas, not exceeding five acres in extent, in any case where he considers that the reclamation will not affect navigation and is for the benefit of the public :

And whereas the Devonport Borough Council (hereinafter called “the Council”) is desirous of reclaiming from the sea certain land at Ngataringa Bay, Devonport, in Auckland Harbour, and the said reclamation is of such a nature as aforesaid, and the Council has applied to the Governor-General in Council for an order authorizing the execution of the said harbour-works :

And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor-General in Council that the proposed work will not be or tend to the injury of navigation, and is for the benefit of the public :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize and empower the Council to reclaim from the sea in Ngataringa Bay, Devonport, Auckland Harbour, the land shown edged in red on plan marked M.D. 6591, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, such reclamation to be carried out and constructed in accordance with plan marked M.D. 6591, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Boundaries of Borough of Geraldine and County of Geraldine altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of December, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS in pursuance of section one hundred and thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that certain areas be included in the Borough of Geraldine and excluded from the County of Geraldine :

And whereas it is deemed expedient to make such alterations of the boundaries of the said borough :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, the areas described in the Schedule hereto shall be included in the Borough of Geraldine and excluded from the County of Geraldine.

SCHEDULE.

AREAS INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF GERALDINE AND EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF GERALDINE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waihi River in line with the northern boundary of the Borough of Geraldine ; thence southerly along that right bank to the southernmost point of Suburban Section No. 15 ; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the Borough of Geraldine to the point of commencement.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waihi River in line with the north-eastern corner of Reserve 755 ; thence southerly along the right bank of the Waihi River and the south-eastern and western boundaries of the said Reserve 755 to its northernmost corner ; thence by a right line to the right bank of the Waihi River, and along that bank to the point of commencement.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Waimamaku Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of December, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Timothy James Hallahan,
George Albert Rutherford Letts,
Robert Parlane,
Aperahama Rupena Tuoro, and
George White

to be the Waimamaku Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the seventeenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, at half past ten o’clock a.m., as the time when, and the Waimamaku Public Hall as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

WAIMAMAKU DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 117 acres 0 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Section No. 3, Block VIII, Hokianga Survey District, commencing at the westernmost corner of Section No. 1, Block VIII, Hokianga Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 1 aforesaid, 290·6 and 688·2 links ; towards the east by Crown land, the crossing of a public road, and again by Crown land, 5936·1 links ; towards the south-east by Crown land 847·7 links ; towards the south-west by a public road along the Tasman Sea, 1997·1, 1725·4, and 1063·9 links ; and towards the north-west by a public road along the Waimamaku River, the crossing of a public road, and again by the road along the aforesaid river, 319·8, 109·8, 304, 710·3, 474·8, 1373, and 4·1 links, to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less : save and excepting a public road intersecting the before-described land.
