published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 1st September,
1927, fixing the closing-hours of fruiterers’ shops within the
City of Auckland and the Boroughs of Devonport, Mount
Albert, Mount Eden, Newmarket, and Onehunga, all of
which are within the said Combined District of Auckland,
shall be and are hereby cancelled as from the date hereof.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks VII and VIII, Waimea Survey District, for the Purposes of a Mental Hospital.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to take the
land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a
mental hospital: And notice is hereby further given that
the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in
the post-office at Stoke, and is there open for inspection;
and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land
should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the
taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication of
this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

Warrant approving of the “Triplelite” Motor Lamp for use in Terms of the Motor-vehicle (Supplementary) Regulations, 1928.
IN terms of Regulations 2 of the Motor-vehicle (Supplementary) Regulations, 1928, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Minister of Public Works, do hereby approve of the device known as the “Triplelite” motor lamp, for fitting to and use on a motor-vehicle additional to the lamps or lights authorized or prescribed by Regulation 3 of the Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1928: Provided that and so long as the said device is identical in effect, make, construction, and design with the sample thereof deposited in the offices of my Department, at Wellington, and marked “Sample Number A.”

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—
and for the purposes of such public work the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to
be taken is deposited in the post-office at Mauriceville West, and
is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking of
the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the
taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Engineers’ Registration Act, 1924.—Examinations, May, 1929.
ENTRIES for the next examination to be held in accordance with the regulations issued under section 16 of the above Act close on the 31st January, 1929. Entrance forms received after that date cannot be considered. Entrance forms will be supplied on request to the Registrar, Engineers’ Registration Board, Wellington. Applicants should state whether they require form for civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
Syllabus of examination can be obtained on payment of 1s. Unless applications for registration have already been considered by the Board, all applications for examination should be accompanied by an application for registration made out on the prescribed form, or by a letter giving full details of the candidates’ training and experience.
Examination fee must also accompany entrance form.
