Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Awatere County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

AWATERE COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County of Awatere taken on the 21st day of November, 1928, on the proposal of the Awatere County Council to borrow the sum of ten thousand pounds for the purpose of constructing a new highway between Seddon and Blenheim, thereby shortening the Picton Bluff Main Highway by approximately four miles and a half, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 468; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 96.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Dated this 27th day of November, 1928.
