Onerahi Town Board declared a Leasing Authority under the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of December, 1928.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS the Onerahi Town Board is a body of persons having power to lease lands held in trust, reserved, or set apart for public purposes, and has requested the Governor-General in Council to declare it to be a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in compliance with such request, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred by the above-mentioned Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the Onerahi Town Board is a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising by the Paeroa Borough Council of the Sum of £500, being Portion of a Loan of £42,750.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of December, 1928.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS the Paeroa Borough Council has obtained, in terms of section fourteen of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, exemption from the requirements of that Act in respect of the sum of five hundred pounds:
And whereas application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the said local authority to borrow the said sum of five hundred pounds, being a portion of the Sewerage Loan of forty-two thousand seven hundred and fifty pounds:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing by the Paeroa Borough Council of the sum of five hundred pounds, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said sum.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising on the Instalment System, extending over a Period of Twenty-five Years, of a Loan of £40,000, authorized to be raised by the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas-lighting Board.

WHEREAS section thirty-two of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), provides that where any local authority has heretofore been or shall hereafter be authorized to raise a loan, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers, or otherwise, and whether such loan has been raised in part or not, such local authority may, with the consent of the Governor-General in Council, raise such loan or any part thereof upon terms of making the same, together with interest thereon, repayable by instalments extending over such period of years, whether in excess of the period mentioned in the poll taken on the proposal for such loan or not, and payable at such times as may be fixed by such local authority, and may permanently appropriate and pledge for the purpose of securing such instalments any special rate already made or hereafter to be made, or any part of such special rate:
And whereas the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas-lighting Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) has been authorized to borrow the sum of forty thousands pounds by a loan to be known as “Distribution Loan, 1928”:
And whereas the said local authority is desirous of raising the said loan on the instalment system extending over a period of twenty-five years:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said sum of forty thousand pounds upon terms of making the same, together with interest thereon, repayable by instalments extending over a period of twenty-five years, and the said Petone and Lower Hutt Gas-lighting Board is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum accordingly.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising of a Loan by the Tauranga Hospital Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of December, 1928.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS the Tauranga Hospital Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”), is desirous of raising by way of bank overdraft the sum of two thousand pounds for the purpose of meeting the liability in respect of a loan of two thousand pounds which matured on twenty-fifth September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, by a loan to be known as “Overdraft Repayment Loan, 1928”:
And whereas the said local authority has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the aforesaid precedent consent should be given to the raising of the said loan on the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan by way of bank overdraft up to the amount of two thousand pounds, at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lender a rate exceeding current bank overdraft rates, subject to the condition that the local authority shall repay the said sum by annual instalments of principal of amounts not less than four hundred pounds.

WHEREAS the Waimarino County Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) proposes, pursuant to the terms of a Warrant issued under section one hundred and nineteen of the Public Works Act, 1908, as amended by section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1927, to raise the sum of five thousand eight hundred and ten pounds by a loan to be known as “Wanganui–Horopito Highway Loan, 1928,” for the purpose of meeting the Council’s share of the cost of metalling a portion of the Wanganui–Horopito Main Highway:
