IN LIQUIDATION.

THE following special resolution was passed on Friday,
23rd November, 1928, by the above company :—

“It is hereby resolved that McSHERRY AND SMITH, Ltd.,
go into voluntary liquidation, and that Mr. A. H. THORPE,
Accountant, of Security Buildings, Auckland, be appointed
Liquidator, it being proved to its satisfaction that the com-
pany cannot, be reason of its liabilities, continue in business,
and that it is advisable to wind up same.”

I, REGINALD STEWART, of Auckland, Salesman, hereto-
fore called and known by the name of REGINALD STEIN,
hereby give public notice that by deed poll dated the 3rd
day of November, 1928, and enrolled in the office of the
Supreme Court of New Zealand at Auckland on the 26th day
of November, 1928, under Number 336, I formally and
absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of
“Stein” and assumed and adopted the surname of “Stewart.”

OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public
Works Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Otamatea County
Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Acts, to execute certain public works—namely,
the taking of land described in the First Schedule hereto
for a quarry site and the taking of land described in the
Second Schedule hereto for the necessary road access
thereto :

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands
so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the
Clerk to the said Council, situate at Paparoa, and is open for
inspection. All persons affected by the execution of the said
public work or by the taking of such lands who have any
well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public
work or to the taking of the said land must state their objec-
tions in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the
Council Chambers, Paparoa.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately
subsisting between us, the undersigned WILLIAM
ERIC REYNOLDS and FREDERICK MORRIS OLDHAM, carrying
on business as Wool, Grain, and Seed Merchants, Importers,
and General Commission Agents, at Dunedin, under the
style or firm of “William E. Reynolds and Co.”, has this
day been dissolved by mutual consent so far as regards the
said William Eric Reynolds, who retires from the firm.

All debts due to, or owing by, the said late firm will be
received and paid by the said Frederick Morris Oldham,
who will continue the said business under the present style
or firm of “William E. Reynolds and Co.”

DANNEVIRKE ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Dannevirke Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of sixteen thousand pounds (£16,000)
authorized by a resolution of the Dannevirke Electric-power
Board, passed on the 16th day of August, 1927, and an Order
in Council of the 31st day of October, 1927, to be raised by
the Dannevirke Electric-power Board under the Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1926, being a supplementary loan pursuant to
section 19 of the said Act to the loan of one hundred and
seventy-five thousand pounds (£175,000) authorized by a
poll of ratepayers taken on the 6th day of September, 1922,
for the following purposes :—

(1) To provide, construct, and erect all electrical distri-
bution and reticulation of the Dannevirke Electric-
power District, and provide tools, plant, buildings,
land, and equipment for the same, as defined by the
Electric - power Boards Act, 1918, and its amend-
ments ;

(2) To provide money to install electrical and other equip-
ment for consumers as provided for under section 88
of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and amend-
ments thereto, and to provide money to purchase
electrical and other equipment to sell to consumers
as provided for under section 90 of the Electric-
power Boards Act, 1918, and amendments thereto ;
the Dannevirke Electric-power Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of one-fourteenth (1/14) of a penny in the
pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved
value) of all rateable property of the Dannevirke Electric-
power District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be pay-
able yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every
