NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.
North Cape : Establishment of Light.
Previous Notice : Wellington Notices Nos. 23 and 45 of 1928 (preliminary), hereby cancelled.
Position : On the summit of the small peaked islet (Muri-motu) lying close eastward of North Cape (Otau). Lat. 34° 25′ S., long. 170° 05′ E. (approx.).
Date of Establishment : On 20th December, 1928.
Abridged Description : Gp. Fl. (2), ev. 60 sec., 326 ft., 16 m. (U).
Character : Group-flashing white showing two flashes every sixty seconds, thus—two seconds flash ; thirteen seconds eclipse ; two seconds flash ; forty-three seconds eclipse.
Elevation : 326 ft. (99m4).
Visibility : 16 miles.
Structure : White iron tower, 19 ft. (5m8).
NOTE.—The light is unwatched.
Remarks : Owing to its elevation this light may be seen beyond its scheduled distance of visibility. The arc of visibility has not been precisely defined.
