middle of the Puniho Road at the Forest Reserve boundary;
thence along the middle of Puniho Road to its junction with
the Coast Road, across Coast Road, and along the northern
boundary of Section 26, Block IV, Cape Survey District, to
the sea; thence by the sea-coast to the mouth of the Waitara
River, the place of commencement, excluding therefrom the
Borough of New Plymouth.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF WAITARA WEST RIDING, COUNTY OF
TARANAKI.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded on the
north-west by the sea from the Borough of New Plymouth
to the mouth of the Waitara River; on the east by Clifton
County and the Borough of Waitara, hereinbefore described;
and on the south by Inglewood County to a point in the middle
of the Waiwakaiho Stream in line with the north-western
boundary of Section 48, Hua and Waiwakaiho Hundred;
thence by a line down the middle of the Waiwakaiho Stream
to and along the boundary of the Borough of New Plymouth
to the seashore, the place of commencement.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amend-
ment, fixing the Closing-hours of Hairdressers’ Shops within
the Combined District of Wellington.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded
to the Minister of Labour from the occupiers of shops
in each of the trades of (1) hairdresser and (2) tobacconist
within the Combined District of Wellington, comprising the
City of Wellington and the Town District of Johnsonville,
pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22 :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I, for and
on behalf of the Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on
and after the date of the publication of this notice in the New
Zealand Gazette, all hairdressers’ shops within the said com-
bined district shall be closed in the evening of working-days as
follows: Subject to closing at not later than 1 p.m. on the day
observed as the statutory closing-day, on Mondays, Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, and Thursdays, at 7 p.m., on Fridays at 10 p.m.,
and on Saturdays at 10.30 p.m. with the following exceptions—
(1) Should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice
observe Saturday as the statutory closing-day, the closing-
hour on Wednesday for any such shop shall be 10.30 p.m. ;
(2) on the two working-days (other than the day observed
as the statutory closing-day) immediately preceding Christmas
Day and the two working-days (other than the day observed
as the statutory closing-day) immediately preceding New
Year’s Day, the closing-hour shall be 11 p.m. ; (3) on the
working-days (other than the day observed as the statutory
closing-day) in the period from the 17th day of December to
the 31st day of December (both days inclusive) on which an
earlier closing-hour than 9 p.m. is hereinbefore prescribed,
the closing-hour, subject to paragraph (2) hereof, shall be
9 p.m. in lieu of such earlier hour.
The notice dated the 17th July, 1918, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of the 18th July, 1918, the amended
notice dated the 19th February, 1919, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of the 20th February, 1919, and the
amended notice dated the 16th April, 1919, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the 17th April, 1919, fixing the
closing-hours of hairdressers’ shops in the City of Wellington,
shall be and are hereby cancelled as from the date of the
coming into operation of this notice.

Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Boot Retailers’,
(2) Drapers’, and (3) Grocers’ shops within the Takapau
Riding of the Waipawa County.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded
to the Minister of Labour from the occupiers of
shops in each of the trades of (1) boot retailer, (2) draper,
and (3) grocer, within the Takapau Riding of the Waipawa
County, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act,
1921–22 :
And whereas the Minister of Labour is satisfied that the
signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the
occupiers of all the shops in each of the said trades within
the said riding :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I, for
and on behalf of the Minister of Labour, do hereby direct
that on and after the 19th day of November, 1928, all the
shops in each of the said trades within the said riding shall
be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 5.30 p.m.,
and on Saturdays at 8 p.m., with the following exception:
Should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice
observe, pursuant to section 14 (2) of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1921–22, Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then
and in such case the closing-hour on Wednesday shall be
5.30 p.m. and the closing-hour on Friday shall be 8 p.m.

Unclaimed Lands.—Notice by the Public Trustee under the
Public Trust Office Act, 1908, Part II, and its Amendments.
To the owner of the following land: Lot 82, D.P. 236,
part R.S. 4905 and 7862, District of Ashburton, being all
the land in Certificate of Title Vol. 63, folio 62, Canterbury
Registry, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or
less, and being the land comprised in transfer No. 14496,
dated 15th December, 1880, from T. Tancred and others
to Alfred May.
WHEREAS, after due inquiry, the owner of the above-
described land cannot be found: And whereas the
said owner has no known agent or agents in New Zealand :
Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner
within six months of the date of the publication of this notice
in the Gazette to establish to the satisfaction of the Public
Trustee the title of such owner to the said land, and if such
owner fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee will exercise
as regards the said land all the powers and authorities granted
to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II),
and its amendments.
