THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Heathcote County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

HEATHCOTE COUNTY COUNCIL.

Cashmere Waterworks Loan of £8,000.

Cashmere Electric Light Extension Loan of £8,000.

Avon-Bromley Electric Light Extension Loan of £8,500.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers in the Cashmere and Avon-Bromley Ridings of the County of Heathcote, taken on the 24th day of October, 1928, on the above proposals to borrow the sums of £8,000 each for the purposes of electric-light extensions and waterworks extensions at Cashmere, and £8,500 for electric light extensions in Avon-Bromley, the number of votes recorded for the proposals were as follows:—

Cashmere waterworks loan of £8,000: For the proposal, 242; against the proposal, 12.

Cashmere Electric Light Extension Loan of £8,000: For the proposal, 236; against the proposal, 18.

Avon-Bromley Electric Extension Loan of £8,500: For the proposal, 108; against the proposal, 40; informal, 6.

I therefore declare that the above proposals were all carried. Dated this 25th day of October, 1928.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Waikato County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Churchill Special-rating District, County of Waikato, taken on the 18th day of October, 1928, on the proposal of the Waikato County Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for the purpose of raising the formation of a road from Rangiriri Township to Churchill and to provide for all road deviations required, and conditions imposed, by the Public Works Department, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 24; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried. Dated this 23rd day of October, 1928.

Election of Member of Canterbury Land Board.

I, WILLIAM STEWART, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Canterbury Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated for the vacancy occurring on the said Board was David Stowell, Esquire, of Timaru.

I do therefore declare that the said David Stowell is duly elected a member of the Canterbury Land Board as from the 12th day of December, 1928.
