or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor-General may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions set forth in the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 28·40 perches.
Portion of railway reserve (part Section 21, right bank of Wanganui River), Block III, Westmere Survey District, City of Wanganui. (S.O. 2379.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 39867, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Exempting Land in the Hauraki Plains West Drainage District, County of Hauraki Plains, from Rates under the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of September, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, the Hauraki Plains West Drainage District, comprising the land described in the Schedule to the said Order in Council, was constituted pursuant to the Land Drainage Act, 1908:

And whereas such land is land liable to be rated pursuant to sections twelve and thirteen of the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926:

And whereas it is expedient to exempt such land from rates that may be made and levied under the last-mentioned Act:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection eight of section thirteen of the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby exempt the land comprised within the Hauraki Plains West Drainage District as constituted by Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, hereinbefore referred to, from rates that may be made and levied under the last-mentioned Act after the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight.

Directing Sale of Railway Land at Hillgrove under the Public Works Act, 1908.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of September, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the thirtieth section of the Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work, the Governor-General may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions set forth in the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Order in Council consenting to the Marlborough Electric-power Board borrowing by way of Bank Overdraft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of September, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Marlborough Electric-power Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) is desirous of borrowing by way of bank overdraft for the purpose of meeting initial losses:

And whereas the said local authority has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council under the said Act should be given to the borrowing as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the borrowing by the said local authority by way of bank overdraft for the purpose of meeting initial losses, at a rate of interest not exceeding current bank overdraft rates, but so that the total amount owing under the authority of paragraph (a) of subsection one of section seventy of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, as at the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, shall not exceed eight thousand pounds.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising of a Loan by the Buller Hospital Board and prescribing Rate of Interest.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of September, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Buller Hospital Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) is desirous of raising the sum of eight hundred pounds for the purpose of purchasing a maternity home and equipment, by a loan to be known as “Maternity Home Purchase Loan, 1928”:

And whereas the said local authority has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council under the said Act should be given to the raising of the said loan on the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth:

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, to the borrowing by the said local authority of the said loan at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate hereinafter mentioned:
