Notice to Mariners No. 51 of 1928.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—HAURAKI GULF.—RIVER THAMES.

(1) Sewer outfall Beacon Light: Obscured sector introduced.

(2) Kauaeranga Channel Beacon Light: Obscured sector introduced.

(2) Tidal Basin: Temporary light to be installed on western (or seaward) tidal-basin beacon.

(4) Tidal Basin: Lighted leading beacons established.

Previous Notices: Wellington Notice No. 35 of 1927, and Nos. 14 and 34 of 1928.

(1) Position: Lat. 37° 08′ 18″ S., long. 175° 31′ 19″ E., on Chart 1108.

Details: This light is obscured from 170° through south and west to 303°.

(2) Position: Lat. 37° 08′ 43″ S., long. 175° 32′ 03″ E., on Chart 1108.

Details: This light is obscured between 123° and 162°.

(3) Position: Lat. 37° 07′ 44″ S., long. 175° 31′ 12″ E., on Chart 1108.

Details: The four-pile beacon having a red surmount referred to in paragraph 3 of Notice No. 35 of 1927, is in course of erection. This beacon will mark the termination of the western (or seaward) tidal wall now under construction. When this beacon has been erected a temporary fixed red light will be shown on it.

(4) Position: Lat 37° 08′ 01″ S., long. 175° 31′ 38″ E., on Chart 1108.

Details: Rear—The four-pile beacon having a black and white surmount referred to in paragraph 1 of Notice No. 35 of 1927, has been erected. This beacon exhibits a flashing white light every 3 seconds, 20 ft., 5 miles; visible between 128° and 140°.

Front—A single-pile beacon exhibiting a small fixed white light, 7 ft., visible over a short distance, has been erected in the Tidal Basin. These beacons, approximately 355 yards apart and in transit 134½°, lead through the entrance into the Tidal Basin.

Remarks: Construction of the western (or seaward) tidal wall, in stone rubble, is proceeding; and dredging is being carried out in the Tidal Basin in the line of Burke Street (Goods) Wharf seaward, and will continue thence in the entrance channel. Further notice will be given concerning the permanent lights which are to be established at the Tidal Basin entrance points.

DECLARATION OF RESULT OF ELECTION OF PRODUCERS’ REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE CANTERBURY—NELSON—MARLBOROUGH PROVINCIAL DISTRICTS.

I, ROBERT WILLIAMSON ATKINSON, Returning Officer for the purposes of the Fruit Control Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, hereby declare the result of the poll taken on Wednesday, the 5th of September, 1928, for the election of a producers’ representative on the New Zealand Fruit-export Control Board for the Provincial Districts of Canterbury, Nelson, and Marlborough to be as follows:—

who was the only person nominated on the 17th day of August, 1928, for the above provincial districts, to be duly elected the producers’ representative on the Board.

Situated eleven miles from Methven Railway-station and school. Watered by permanent races. Land is of medium to heavy quality, mainly undulating, and with the exception of terrace faces is all ploughable. When in condition, and with turnips, should carry 450 to 500 ewes.
