THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Gas-lighting Amendment Act, 1927), the said Petone and Lower Hutt Gas-lighting Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixty-nine two-hundred-and-fifty-sixths (69/256ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Board’s rating district, being the Boroughs of Petone and Lower Hutt, and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NELSON CITY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Relief of Unemployment Loan of £800, 1928.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges (if any) on a loan of £800, authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing for the relief of unemployment, the said Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of one penny in the pound on the rateable value (being the annual value) of all rateable property within the City of Nelson, comprising the whole of the City of Nelson as defined by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly in one sum on the 23rd day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

ROUT AND MILNER, Hardy Street, Nelson, on Thursday, the 30th day of August, 1928, at 7.30 p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidators, and also of determining the manner in which the books of the company shall be disposed of.

LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Street-widening and Construction Loan of £20,000, 1928.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000, authorized to be raised by the Lower Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for street-widening and construction, the said Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 217/400ths of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments; and in the matter of FRANCIS AND TAYLOR, LIMITED (in Liquidation).
BY an order made by his Honour Mr. Justice OSTLER in the above matter dated the 9th day of August, 1928, on the petition of REO MOTORS, LTD., a Creditor and Contributory of the above-named company, it was ordered—

That GEORGE STANLEY KIRBY and HUGH BLAKE BURDEKIN, both named and described in the said petition, be removed from the office of liquidators of the said company, Francis and Taylor, Limited.

That the company Francis and Taylor, Limited, be wound up by the Court under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments.

That the costs of the petitioner of and incidental to the petition be paid out of the assets of the said company, in accordance with the scale contained in the First Schedule to Company’s (Winding-up) Rules.

That the costs of the liquidators, the said George Stanley Kirby and Hugh Blake Burdekin, of and incidental to the petition be fixed at £6 6s., plus disbursements, and that the same be paid out of the assets of the said company.

That leave be reserved to the said George Stanley Kirby and Hugh Blake Burdekin to apply to the Court at any time for an order for the adoption of all or any of the proceedings taken by them in the course of the voluntary winding-up.
