SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Westland County.—Kanieri Survey District.
SECTION 669, Block VIII: Area, 107 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £60. Half-yearly rent, £1 4s.
Generally steep hill face, with some small flats along road frontage and Kawaka Creek. All under dense bush, from which all timber of commercial value has been removed. Watered by streams. Access to old Christchurch Road by unformed road, a distance of four miles.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Pongaroa Scenic Board.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—
Leonard Johnston,
William Evan Davies,
William Nelson Lankey,
Max Kayser,
Ernest Ronaldson McIntyre,
Thomas Arthur Yeoman,
John McIntyre,
Frederick Wardle, and
Robert William Morris,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Pongaroa Scenic Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Wednesday, the fifth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at eight o’clock p.m., in the Public Hall, Pongaroa, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Wednesday in each quarter at the time and place aforesaid, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any five members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman for such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
PONGAROA SCENIC RESERVE.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
SECTIONS 1 to 12, Block IV, Town of Pongaroa: Area, 5 acres 1 rood 35 perches.
Also Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, Block VII, Town of Pongaroa: Area, 2 acres 3 roods 11 perches.
Also part of Section 5 and Sections 6 to 16 inclusive, Block XII; parts of Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and Sections 11, 13, and part Section 14, Block XIII, part Section 16 and Sections 14 and 18 to 24 inclusive, Block IX, Town of Pongaroa; Section 14, Suburbs of Pongaroa; and roads within the above area stopped by Proclamation dated 18th February, 1908, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 12, of the 20th February, 1908, page 608: Area, 48 acres 1 rood 13 perches.
Also Section 24, Pongaroa Suburbs, Block IX, Mount Cerebus Survey District: Area, 3 roods 30 perches.

Appointment of Trustee for Omaka Public Cemetery revoked.—(H. 2/97.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the authorities vested in me by the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a certain Warrant dated the thirtieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the Gazette on the seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, appointing a trustee for the Omaka Public Cemetery, as described in the Schedule hereto.

OMAKA PUBLIC CEMETERY.
PART Lot 1 of Section 28, District of Omaka, containing by admeasurement 23 acres 0 roods 4 perches, more or less.
Also Lot 2, D.P. 771, being portion of Lot 4 of Section 28, and portion of Lot 2 of Section 27, District of Omaka, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods 13 perches, more or less.
Also Section 8, Block III, Taylor Pass Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 30 perches, more or less.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a certain Warrant dated the eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the Gazette on the thirteenth day of the same month, appointing trustees for the Kakahi Public Cemetery, as described in the Schedule hereto.
