In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of the EAST COAST MOTORS, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that on the 20th day of July, 1928, the following resolution was entered in the minute-book of the company:—
Resolved—“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that MESSRS. BULL AND EDWARDS, of Gisborne, be and are hereby appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of F. 2. U. Boot AND SHOE COMPANY, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given of the following minute, signed by the members of the company and taking effect as a special resolution:—
“It is hereby resolved that the company go into voluntary liquidation, and that Mr. J. CARDER be appointed Liquidator hereof.”

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Piako County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £1,400, authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purposes of (1) Purchasing the land Te Au o Waikato A 4, B 1, containing 5 acres 3 roods 30 perches, more or less, and erecting thereon a building, such land and building to be a worker’s dwelling within the meaning of section 192 of the Counties Act, 1920, and the total cost or proportion of the loan for this purpose to be £700; and (2) purchasing the land, 5 acres and 32 perches, more or less, adjoining the road and stream, part of Lot 3 of Section 2 of Block I, Maungakawa Survey District, and erecting thereon a building, such land and building to be another worker’s dwelling within the meaning of the section aforesaid, and the total cost or proportion of the loan for this purpose to be £700, the said Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eightieth part of a penny in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Piako, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was passed at an ordinary meeting of the Piako County Council held at Te Aroha on Monday, the 16th day of July, 1928.

BOROUGH OF WESTPORT.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Westport Borough Council, at a special meeting of the said Council on Wednesday, the 18th day of July, 1928.
£4,889 19s. 1d.: Gas Redemption Loan, 1928.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) thereunto enabling, the Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £4,889 19s. 1d., known as the Westport Borough Gasworks Redemption Loan of £4,889 19s. 1d., 1928, authorized to be raised by the Westport Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose (together with accrued sinking funds) of paying off a gasworks loan of £5,000 raised in the year 1904, and the balance—namely, £2,500 of a further Gasworks Loan of £2,700 raised in the year 1904, the said Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property on the Borough of Westport, comprising the whole of the Borough of Westport; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 4th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We, the undersigned Mayor and Town Clerk of the Borough of Westport, do hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Westport Borough Council, held on Wednesday, the 18th day of July, 1928.

THE EDUCATION BOARD AT THE DISTRICT OF CANTERBURY.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, a body corporate constituted under the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, for educational purposes—that is to say, for the purpose of a new school-site in the Addington District—all that piece of land situated in the City of Christchurch, and Block XV of the Christchurch Survey District, being part of Rural Section 154, and containing by admeasurement one acre one rood and twenty-eight and four-fifths perches, commencing at the southernmost corner of Lot 28 on plan deposited in the Lands Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 3577, and from there running in a south-easterly direction on a bearing of 140° 25′ 20″ for a distance of 212·7 links; thence continuing on a bearing of 140° 42′ 40″ for a distance of 25·45 links; thence in a south-westerly direction on a bearing of 50° 43′ 09″ for a distance of 601·07 links; thence in a north-westerly direction on a bearing of 140° 42′ 40″ for a distance of 238·2 links; thence in a north-easterly direction on a bearing of 53° 43′ 30″ for a distance of 600 links, back to the commencing-point: As the same is delineated on a plan lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch, and numbered Survey Plan 2057:
And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the land required to be taken and the names of the owners and occupiers of such land is deposited at the offices of the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch aforesaid, where it lies open for public inspection daily (without fee) during all reasonable hours; and that all persons affected shall, if they have any objections to the taking of such land set forth in writing such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of such notice, being the 25th day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, addressed to the Chairman of the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, at the offices of the Board, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore existing between HAROLD LEDGER GOODMAN, of Motueka, Baker, and REGINALD HEWETSON, of the same place, Carpenter, under the style or firm name of “H. L. Goodman and Co.,” of Motueka, Bakers, is hereby dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of July, 1928.
