Sale and Lease of Land owned by the Ohai Railway Board.

WHEREAS it is provided by section 69 of the Local Railways Act, 1914, that if it is found that any land taken under this Act is not required for the purposes of the railway, the Board may, with the consent of the Minister publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold by public auction; or, with the like consent, may cause such land to be leased for any term not exceeding twenty-one years, at such rent and upon such terms and conditions as the Board thinks fit.

And whereas the Ohai Railway Board (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”) is stated to have taken the land described in Schedules A and B hereunder in terms of the said Act, and the said land is stated to be no longer required by the Board for the purposes of the railway:

And whereas the Board is desirous of selling the land described in Schedule A hereunder and leasing the land described in Schedule B hereunder, and has applied for my consent to these proposals in terms of the said section:

Now, therefore, I, Kenneth Stuart Williams, Minister of Public Works, do hereby consent to the sale by the Board by public auction of the lands or any portion or portions thereof described in Schedule A hereunder, and to the leasing by the Board for a term not exceeding twenty-one years of the lands or any portion or portions thereof described in Schedule B hereunder.

Position: On the summit of the small peaked islet (Murimotu) lying close eastward of North Cape (Otau). Lat. 34° 25′ S., long. 173° 05′ E. (approx.).

Date of Intended Establishment: It is expected the erection of this light will be completed in December, 1928, of which further notice will be issued.
