The undermentioned Lieutenants are transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 28th June, 1928.

Lieutenant E. Boulton, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 2nd May, 1925, and is seconded for duty with the 3rd C Battalion. Dated 28th June, 1928.

The Wellington Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant C. C. T. Harris, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Taranaki Regiment. Dated 29th June, 1928.

James Douglas Ingham Seaton, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is seconded for duty with the 4th C Battalion. Dated 29th May, 1928.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

Captain G. McAneny, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6. Dated 26th June, 1928.

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) A. L. M. Perry, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 2nd July, 1928.

The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants:—

G. F. Pryce, 1st Battalion. Dated 16th May, 1927.
I. R. Cutforth, 1st C Battalion. Dated 1st February, 1928.

The Taranaki Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant C. C. T. Harris, from the Wellington Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 12th November, 1924, and is seconded for duty with the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 29th June, 1928.

The Canterbury Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant R. Faville, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Southern Depot, Corps of N.Z. Engineers. Dated 2nd July, 1928.

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) A. L. M. Perry, from the Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), with seniority as from the 13th March, 1928, and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 2nd July, 1926.

The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) are confirmed:—

A. W. G. Lipscomb, 3rd C Battalion.
R. N. Howland, 4th C Battalion.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.

Lieutenant E. Boulton, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own). Dated 28th June, 1928.

The Otago Regiment.

Lieutenant C. W. Cayzer, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 11. Dated 2nd July, 1928.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) H. J. Robins, 3rd C Battalion, is confirmed.

N.Z. VETERINARY CORPS.

Edgar Jabez Lukey, B.V.S.C., Melb., to be Captain. Dated 19th March, 1928.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. S. Elliott, V.D., M.D., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 27th June, 1928.

Captain G. P. Fitzgerald, M.B., ceases to be attached to the 1st Battalion, Otago Regiment, and is attached for duty to the 12th Field Battery, N.Z.A. Dated 29th June, 1928.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The Reverend S. Evans, Chaplain 3rd Class, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 23rd June, 1928.

With reference to the notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 53 of 28th June, 1928, relating to the Reverend H. J. West, for “H. J. West” read “H. J. W. Knights.”

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Takapuna Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Takapuna, taken on the 4th day of July, 1928, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £28,100, for roading and storm-water drainage, the number of votes recorded was—

For the proposal, 654; against the proposal, 708.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

Dated at Takapuna, this 5th day of July, 1928.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Borough of Waitara.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 10th July, 1928.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Borough of Waitara, and included in the County of Taranaki. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF WAITARA, AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF TARANAKI.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 9, Waitara West District; thence along the western side of Ranfurly Street to the south-eastern corner of Section 12, Waitara West District; thence along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 12 to the south-western corner of said Section 12; thence across Johnston Street and along its western side to a point in line with the north-western boundary of the said Section 12; thence to and along that boundary to the south-western corner of Section 9, Waitara West
