to be the Returning Officer for the electoral district of Auckland Suburbs for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, as from the 9th day of June, 1928.

Appointment of Member of Greymouth Harbour Board.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

COMMANDS.

Lieutenant-Colonel D. J. Gibbs, D.S.O., V.D., relinquishes command of the Corps of Engineers, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 30th June, 1928.

Lieutenant-Colonel N. Annabell, M.C., is appointed to command the Corps of N.Z. Engineers. Dated 1st July, 1928.

THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) D. S. A. Weir is confirmed.

THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant J. F. Balck, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, with seniority next below Lieutenant M. J. O’Brien. Dated 26th May, 1927.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

Allan Alexander McQueen to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 12th June, 1928.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant R. Sinel, 5th Field Battery, to be Captain. Dated 9th June, 1928.

2nd Lieutenant D. C. Bryson, 4th C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 19th June, 1928.
