SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Otanomomo Settlement.—Clutha County.—Clutha Survey District.

SECTION 9A: Area, 85 acres 2 roods 30 perches. Capital value, £750. Half-yearly rental, £18 15s.

Improvements.—Improvements included in the capital value comprise: Whole value 28¾ chains east boundary fencing, £21 11s.; whole value 17 chains internal fencing, £5 19s.; 27 chains ditching, £10 16s.: Total, £38 6s.

Improvements not included in the capital value, but which must be paid for separately are as follows: Dwellinghouse, £290; stable and implement-shed, £50; cow-byrе, £35; windmill, pipes, and ditches, £125; clearing, logging, and grassing 78 acres, £312; fencing, approximately 204 chains, £36 14s.: Total, £848 14s.

This amount may be paid either in cash or by a deposit of £63 14s., and the balance over a period of twenty years to be secured by a first mortgage over the property for a term of twenty years, interest at the rate of 5 per cent. in the case of a soldier and 5½ per cent. in the case of a civilian.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION.

Otanomomo Settlement is situated near the coast, between the Molyneux and the Puerua Rivers. The land is flat, and only a few feet above sea-level. Rich swamp land, suitable for dairying, soil first class. Situated about six miles from Balclutha ; closest railway-station Otanomomo, one mile and a half. Close to post and telegraph office, creamery, and school. Seven acres in natural state; balance ploughed, in pasture and cultivation.

Special Condition.—The successful applicant will require to assume liability for an amount of £10 1s. 9d., due to the Otago Electric-power Board on account of the electrical installation.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Matamata County Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the Maungatautari Scenic Reserve, described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), in the Matamata County Council, subject to he conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.
MAUNGATAUTARI MOUNTAIN SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 2,691 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Maungatautari No. 3A, Section 5A, No. 7 Block, Maungatautari Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 201, folio 102, Auckland Registry.

Also all that area in the Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 936 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Maungatautari No. 3A, Section 5A, No. 3 Block, Maungatautari Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 235, folio 29, Auckland Registry.

Also all that area in the Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 221 acres, more or less, being Maungatautari No. 3A, Section 5A, No. 6 Block, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 275, folio 138, Auckland Registry.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
