£2 2s., is hereby authorized to take or kill two red-deer stags
of not less than eight points and one hind within the Tauranga Acclimatization District, from the 31st day of March,
1928, to the 30th day of April, 1928 (both days inclusive),
subject to the provisions of the Animal Protection and Game
Act, 1921–22, and all regulations and notifications affecting
red-deer stags and hinds made thereunder and in force
within the said district.

This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or
kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively
used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any
land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring
an open season for the district.

Open Season for Deer-shooting, Tauranga Acclimatization
District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Francis Joseph
Rolleston, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day
of March, 1928, to the 31st day of March, 1928 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Tauranga Acclimatization District, described in the First Schedule hereto, for
the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz.,
fallow deer, bucks, and does, subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill fallow-deer bucks and does may
    be issued by the Postmaster at Tauranga on payment of a
    license fee of £1, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule
    hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder
    and this notification: Provided that not more than one
    such license shall be issued to the same person.

  2. No licensee shall take or kill more than two fallow-deer
    bucks and one doe. Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullets shall be
    used for killing such deer.

  3. No fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatsoever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany
    either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  4. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing
    any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  5. Nothing in any license to take or kill fallow-deer
    bucks and does shall authorize the holder thereof to take
    or kill fallow-deer bucks or does on lands actually and
    exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society
    for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public
    domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the
    notification declaring an open season for the district.

  6. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District commencing at
a point on the sea-coast due north of Trig. Station J1, in
Block IV, Waihi South Survey District, proceeding thence
due south to a point due east of Trig. Station Otane, Wainuku;
then by a right line running due west to Trig. Station Otane,
Wainuku, aforesaid, and passing through that station to its
intersection with a line running between Trig. Station Pu-whenua and Weraiti; thence by a right line to Trig. Station
Weraiti; thence by a right line to Waranunaru; thence
north-westerly along the western boundary of Whakamarama
No. 2 to Trig. Station Mimiohanga; thence generally north-westerly along the summit of the range and passing through
Te Ariariparitupu, Pukupenga Ngatamahinerua, and on to its
intersection with the confiscation boundary; thence south-westerly along the confiscation boundary to Te Aroha Trig.
Station; thence by a right line to the mouth of the Waihi
River; thence south-easterly along the sea-coast to the place
of commencement, and including Mayor and Karewa Islands.

Open Season for Deer-shooting, Wellington Acclimatization
District, excepting Portion of Counties of Featherston and
Wairarapa South.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Francis Joseph
Rolleston, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 24th
day of March, 1928, to the 31st day of May, 1928 (both days
inclusive), to be an open season in the Wellington Acclimatization District for the taking or killing of the following
imported game—viz., red-deer and Sambur deer stags and
hinds—within that part of the said acclimatization district
described in the First Schedule hereto, excepting the areas
described in the Second Schedule hereto, subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill red-deer and Sambur deer stags
    and hinds may be issued by the Secretary of the Wellington
    Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £2,
    in the form prescribed in the Third Schedule hereto, and
    subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this
    notification: Provided that not more than one such license
    shall be issued to the same person.

  2. No licensee shall take or kill more than two red-deer
    and Sambur deer stags and no red-deer stag shall be killed
    carrying antlers with less than ten points. A licensee may,
    pursuant to a license issued under this notification, take or
    kill an unlimited number of hinds. Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased
    bullet shall be used for killing such deer.

  3. No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either
    himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  4. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing
    any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  5. Regulations as to the use of marks of identification
    of deer-heads, contained in section 6 of the regulations under
    the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, published
    in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th February, 1924, page 437,
    shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition
    thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the Secretary of
    the Wellington Acclimatization Society at Wellington immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which
    such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement
    of the number of deer shot.

  6. Nothing in any license to take or kill red-deer and
    Sambur deer stags and hinds shall authorize the holder
    thereof to take or kill red-deer and Sambur deer stags or
    hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered
    acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any
    sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from
    the operation of the notification declaring an open season
    for the district.

  7. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
