APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 1 acre 0 roods 8 perches.

Adjoining Allotments 68 E.R., 69 E.R., 69A E.R., and 70 E.R., Kourawhero Parish, Block V, Mahurangi Survey District.

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/1557, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, under No. 2263, and thereon coloured green.

Resuming Land in Nevis Survey District, Otago Land District, for a Library Site.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Land Act, 1924 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor-General may by Proclamation resume possession of any land leased under Part VI of the said Act, or under the corresponding provisions of any former Land Act, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land held under pastoral license from His Majesty the King, issued under Part VI of the Land Act, 1908, and dated the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for a library site:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Land Act, 1924, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under pastoral license as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section 35, Block III, Nevis Survey District, and bounded on the south-west, north-west, and north-east by Run 345A, and on the south-east by a public road known as Garston-Cromwell Road: As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 22/3630/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 1st day of June, 1928.

Settlement Land in Auckland Land District proclaimed to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section forty-nine of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Proclamation declare any lands acquired under that Act to be, inter alia, ordinary Crown lands available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924:

And whereas it is deemed expedient that the land described in the Schedule hereto, and which was acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, shall cease to be settlement land and become ordinary Crown land for disposal under the Land Act, 1924:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities so conferred upon me by the aforesaid section forty-nine, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the date of the gazetting hereof the land described in the Schedule hereto,
