THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been received from the Admiralty, London, are published for general information.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—BAY OF ISLANDS.
(1) Deep Water Cove: Rock reported.
Position: On the northern side of the cove and at a distance of about 1·85 miles 228° from chartered position of Cape Brett light. Lat. 35° 12′ S., long. 174° 18′ E. (approx.).
Description: A rock with a depth of less than 6 ft. (1m8), to be marked “Repd. (1928) P.A.” on the chart.
(2) Bird Rock: Shoal reported North-westward of.
Position: At a distance of about 1·5 cables 315° from Bird Rock summit. Lat. 35° 10′ S., long. 174° 18′ E. (approx.).
Depth: 7 fathoms (12m8); the shoal is to marked “Repd. (1928) P.A.” on the chart.

Whangaroa Harbour, Shoal northward of: Information re Rock eastward of.
(1) Shoal:—
Position: About 3½ miles north-eastward of Stephenson Island. Lat. 34° 55′ 15″ S., long. 173° 50′ 45″ E. (approx.).
Depth: 7 fathoms (12m8).
NOTE.—This depth encircled by a 10-fathom (18m3) line is to be inserted on the charts and marked “Huahine Shoal.”
(2) Rock:—
Position: About 2 miles north-eastward of the northern end of Great Cavalli Island. Lat. 34° 59′ S., long. 174° 01′ E. (approx.).
Details: The note “Reported 1880” hitherto shown against this rock on chart No. 2525 is to be expunged and “Taheke Rock (P.A.)” substituted.

Neiafu Harbour: Existence of Wreck.
Position: At a distance of about 3¼ cables 357° from Muikile kila Δ. Lat. 18° 40′ S., long. 173° 59′ W. (approx.).
Description: Dangerous sunken wreck (1927) of S.S. “Clan MacWilliam”; to be marked “(P.A.)” on the charts.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar, dissolving a Society.
I, GEORGE HUME SEDDON, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Women’s Christian Temperance Union of Gisborne, Incorporated (1912/1), is not carrying on business, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 29th May, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 12th June, 1928.
Preference at the ballot will be given to landless applicants who have one or more children dependent on them; to landless applicants who, within two years immediately preceding date of ballot, have applied for land at least twice unsuccessfully; to applicants who have served beyond New Zealand as members of the Expeditionary Force; to persons engaged on military service beyond New Zealand in connection with the late war, if such persons immediately prior to the war were bona fide residents in New Zealand; and to applicants who, while domiciled in New Zealand, have served beyond New Zealand as members of any of His Majesty’s Forces in connection with any war other than the war with Germany.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Ohura County.—Ohura Survey District.
(Exempt from Rent for Two Years.)
SECTION 3, Block VIII: Area, 1,000 acres. Capital value, £800. Half-yearly rent, £16.
Exempt from payment of rent for a period of two years, provided improvements to the value of £40 by way of re-grassing are effected annually during the exemption period.
Weighted with £2,000, valuation for improvements comprising four-roomed dwelling (with bathroom and pantry), woolshed and yards (good order), cowbyre and yards, 270 chains fencing, 520 acres grassing.
This amount is payable by a deposit of £200; balance to be secured on mortgage for a term of 34½ years.
Property is situated on the Kakahi Road, ten miles from Toi Toi Railway-station, half a mile from the Kakahi School, and seventeen miles from Matiere Dairy Factory.
ABSTRACT OF CONDITIONS OF LEASE.
- Term of lease, sixty-six years, with a perpetual right of renewal for further successive terms of sixty-six years.
- Rent, 4 per cent. per annum on the capital value, payable on 1st January and 1st July in each year.
- Applicants to be seventeen years of age and upwards.
- Applicants to furnish statutory declaration with application, and, on being declared successful, deposit £1 1s. (lease fee) and a half-year’s rent. Rent for the broken period between date of lease and 1st January or 1st July following is also payable.
- Applications made on the same day are deemed to be simultaneous.
- Order of selection is decided by ballot.
- Successful applicant to execute lease within thirty days after being notified that it is ready for signature.
- Residence is to commence within four years in bush land or swamp land, and within one year in open or partly open land, and to be continuous for ten years. Under certain conditions personal residence may be dispensed with.
- Improvements.—Lessee is required to improve the land within one year to the value of 10 per cent. of the price; within two years to the value of another 10 per cent. of the price; and thereafter, but within six years, to the value of another 10 per cent. of the price. In addition to the foregoing, and within six years, improvements are also to be effected to the value of £1 for every acre of first-class land, 10s. for every acre of second-class land, and 2s. 6d. for every acre of third-class land.
- Lessee to pay all rates, taxes, and assessments.
- Transfer not allowed until completion of two years’ continuous residence, except under extraordinary circumstances, and then only with permission.
- Roads may be taken through the lands at any time within seven years; twice the original value to be allowed for area taken for such roads.
- Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions are violated.
