Authorizing the Franklin Electric-power Board to invest Portion of its Reserve Fund in certain Local Body Securities. CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, 1928. Present : THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL. IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section thirty of the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1927 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the investment in debentures of the Tauranga Borough Council at five and three-quarters per centum interest, and in debentures of the Franklin County Council at six per centum interest, of the sum of three thousand two hundred pounds (£3,200) appropriated in terms of section thirty of the said Act by the Franklin Electric-power Board to provide a reserve fund. WHEREAS by subsection eight of section seven of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1922, it is enacted that in all cases where an order is dated more than five years previously to the receipt of the application, the Chief Judge of the Native Land Court shall first obtain the consent of the Governor-General in Council before making any order thereunder : And whereas application has been made under the said section to amend orders of the Native Land Court dated the seventeenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, appointing successors to the interests of Ramari Herewine or Herepeka (deceased), in the New Zealand Company's Reserved Tenths (Provincial District of Nelson) and in Pukatea and Wairau Blocks. Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Chief Judge exercising with regard to the said recited orders of the seventeenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, all and every the jurisdiction granted to him by the said section seven, and to the making of any such order thereunder as may seem necessary or expedient. IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for waterworks purposes. F. D. THOMSON, Clerk of the Executive Council. (P.W. 50/406.) Consenting under the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, to the Raising of a Loan by the Golden Bay Electric-power Board. CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, 1928. Present : THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL. IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing by the Golden Bay Electric-power Board of the sum of three thousand five hundred pounds for the purpose of financing consumers, subject to the following conditions :-

  1. That the term for which the loan is borrowed shall not exceed six (6) years.
  2. That the local authority shall repay the said loan by five (5) annual instalments of not less than six hundred pounds (£600), and the balance in the sixth year. F. D. THOMSON, Clerk of the Executive Council.
