behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a street, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Greymouth, as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 17·4 perches. Being portion of Section No. 1423, part Subdivision D, being part Block 18A, South Freehold, Town of Greymouth (Westland R.D.), (Borough of Greymouth). (S.O. 2705.)

In the Westland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 72017, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 25th day of May, 1928.

Authorizing the North Canterbury Electric-power Board to construct and purchase Electric Works.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, 1928.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by sections seventy-six and seventy-eight of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the North Canterbury Electric-power Board to erect and use electric lines as shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 71441, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and such further lines as may from time to time be required in the North Canterbury Electric-power District and outer area of such district as hereinafter defined; and to purchase from the Minister of Public Works such electric lines and equipment, belonging to the said Minister, and situated within the said electric - power district and outer area as may from time to time be agreed upon between the said Minister and the said Board, and subject to such terms as may be arranged between the said Minister and the said Board; and to construct substations for the distribution of electrical energy in the North Canterbury Electric-power District and outer area of such district, as defined by Proclamation dated the twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 11, of the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven; subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. No electric lines shall be used for the distribution of electrical energy until the North Canterbury Electric-power Board has obtained a license for such purpose in accordance with the provisions of section 2 of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911.

  2. Any conditions inserted in such license shall be strictly complied with by the Board.

  3. The Board shall forward for the approval of the Minister of Public Works such further plans and particulars as the Minister of Public Works may from time to time require.

  4. The Board shall not, without the consent in writing of the Minister of Public Works, erect any electric lines along the routes of the Government main-trunk transmission-lines.

  5. The works hereby authorized shall be constructed so as to comply with the regulations made under section 2 of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, dated the 11th day of July, 1927, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th day of the same month, or any regulations made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, which regulations shall be deemed to be incorporated herein.

  6. The Board shall substantially complete the works hereby authorized within a period of three years from the date of this license, or within such further time as the Minister may allow in the event of the work being delayed by strikes, lock-outs, breakdowns, or other unavoidable causes not due to any neglect by the Board.

Amending General Regulations under Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, 1928.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 94 of the eleventh day of the same month, an additional general regulation was made:

And whereas it is desirable to revoke the said regulation and to make an additional regulation in lieu thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section eighty-three of the Fisheries Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of the third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and doth hereby make the following additional regulation for the purposes of the said Act.

REGULATION.

It shall be permissible for the Marine Department to take, during the close season, any trout, salmon, or other acclimatized fish from the waters of any river or stream for the purposes of pisciculture.

Authorizing the Depreciation Fund Commissioners of the Franklin Electric-power Board to Invest Moneys in certain Local Body Securities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, 1928.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section twenty-three of the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1927 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the investment in debentures of the Tauranga Borough Council at five and three-quarters per centum interest, and in debentures of the Franklin County Council at six per centum interest, of the sum of three thousand five hundred pounds (£3,500) received in terms of section twenty-two of the said Act, by the Depreciation Fund Commissioners of the Franklin Electric-power Board.
